just interested how you come up with that opinion...? (no attempt at beef or owt i assure you)
Yeah, I'm in the same situation. Iration is faaaaar louder, and i find the top end sounds horribly distorted. If i stand by the door to the smoking area, i can just about stand it without plugs, but it still sounds like machines eating themselves every time a snare hits. Maybe this is because i've still got pretty good hearing (tested it on my monitors the other day and I can hear up to about 19.5KHz... I'm 23...), or I'm a just fussy tnuc.

Either way, I'd far rather not have to wear plugs at a rave, and this is a real possibility at DMZ. At exodus, it's just asking for trouble. You're getting damaged even before it starts to hurt, and exodus is agony...

I find the rig at exodus actually sounds fucking great when you've got plugs in, and there is definitely a bit more bass than DMZ, but DMZ sounds even better and doesn't require plugs.

That all said, one of the best dubstep moments i've ever had was at the end of the night at exodus, chef playing a set a deep as hell, leaning against the subs with some plugs in as my teeth rattled ...

I experienced iration as more of a "feel it" than "listen to it" sound...

The Mass soundsystem does both for me :)

But yeah, fair point. Also, it's a bigger room, and always banging. Not to mention that Exodus only uses half the available soundsystem (see the full thing at Subdub, it's sick)

I definitely got to check that out.

edit: what is the full thing? where I got to see iration there were 3 rigs, then two other sound systems had 3 just as big rigs each as well. They were taking turns, each one on their own ss... The way that set up looked was quite impressive, i must say :)

That my boyfriend seems to think DMZ is a kinky sex night because it takes place at The Mass. He was highly disappointed to discover the reality when eagerly rang up the next morning to hear about my night. The only man alive disappointed to discover dubstep?

Why who's top-of-the-range and who's more cheap and affordable?
Is there a brochure?

maybe you should start a personal ads thread where we can advertise our wares for you.
