Difference is the higher quality sounds and works better when your doing an Mp3 mix. The lower quality gets really bad when you start time stretching it etc.

It's more to do with prinicipal and the fact that if you was an artist or label owner would you think it's kool to have stuff that you've put time and money into freely available to download, why bother spending money pressing it up in the first place, it aint like we get big returns in he long run, this aint the same as downloading the latest 50 cent or Sean Paul, we aint rich, we're nearer broke than most of you's probably.

Fact is the Artists and people that run the labels don't want there stuff distrubuted around like that, get the tunes of a mix or something.
That's why we go on radio at mad times in the night.

Ancient Memories is still fucking fresh, no one would have no problems buying that so there aint no excuse, same with most of the other stuff, a few shops have got copies left so i'm sure having it freely to download at top quality might swing someone who was gonna buy into thinking.. fuck it i dont need now, i got a crisp copy on my pc, burn it to cd, sorted.

Chef's right ! Why is it people automatically assume that producers are minted??? a couple of my mates who are quite well known d+b producers barely get by .. It's a myth that producers who release on small indie labels can afford to have there music given away for free, they'll be very very lucky if they see a grand from the release of 12". So Skream's reaction is totally understandable ..

I think gutter fucked up but I also think he shouldnt be griefed as much as he has been by some people in this thread.

To be honest mate, that's pretty out of order and there's no need for that. If someone had put up 320's of released tunes of mine or my mates for free without even a notification, I'd be fucking pissed off. And who are you to comment on how much money Skream or anyone else makes or won't make? What possible business is it of yours or a public forum? Unless you somehow part own rights of Tempa, are Skream yourself or have some other obscure permission to the rights of these tunes, you need to pipe the fuck down.

I think fair play to Gutter for sticking to his guns and doing what he thinks was right and complying when asked by someone who actually has some relevance to the tunes to take them down. Now the ethics of putting them up in the first place, is a much bigger and to be quite frank, tired subject. What is the impact on sales? Can file sharing be allowed in such small scene? Not everyone does have turntables, and regardless of some of the facist statements in this thread, you don't need to own a deck and buy the records to prove your love for the music. Rahrahrah. Argued that on DOA for the last 5 years, nothing new.

End conclusion, Gutter did something perhaps he shoudn't of, especially as a very influential member of the scene. However he made amends when asked and was only trying to provide music to those who don't have the means to access it. So lay off Gutter he's a good man and has done so much for the scene from before I had even heard about it. It's being dealt with by the people involved, but Gutter has still taken the blog down to lie low for a bit, presumeably until everyone calms the fucks down and stops trying to persecute him.
