never replied to this, but it's interesting - especially with video games I think it's comparible. it's a first person perspective there, but when you're listening to an MC it's someone elses. in video games, especially shooters and stuff, it's all about the quest for realism - MCing and music arguably it's the opposite; escapism, and probably not even attempting to emulate reality like some games are.

edit - to clarify I don't have a problem with violent fiction particularly in any medium, I just think it's a mistake and an untenable position to take issue with one and allow the others

Anybody remember a quite an old Flow Dan tune that goes "I am the big Flow Dan / Otherwise known as Mr. Sun Man"?
19th October - Jahtari Presents Tapes EP Launch Party @ Gramaphone, London w/ Tapes, Clause Four & International Observer.
23rd October - Galway, Ireland.
31st October - UFO @ Dojo, Bristol w/ Dema.

That is one of his most famous bars! I always thought it said 'Mr Sandman'.

In terms of actual records put out it was probably 'Big Mic Man' (which I have also heard called 'Bun Dat') which came out on a single-sided vinyl ~2002/3. The beat is sparse and martial. The chorus is him chanting 'Bun dat with the fire'.

Links to some fairly recent Logan Sama shows featuring Flowdan including an interview.

I was searching for that link but went here first: http://www.thegrimescene.com/

Not what I was looking for! :D
