i finally understand renoise!

Post by Elkie » Mon Mar 17, 2008 6:09 am

haha, sorry but i just had to tell someone, and its ten past six, so i didnt want to wake anyone up..

yeah, ive been sitting up all night, trying to figure this fucking thing out, and all of a sudden, it just seemed to click!

what looked to me like the least intuitive way of setting out a producing application suddenly seems to make sense!

YEEEEAAAAHHHBOOOOOYYY!!!!

hopefully should be on my way to making some tunes, now ive got 3 weeks off uni :D
yeah, ive been trying to work this out since 4 this afternoon, about 14 hours ago...

but finally i understand!

im going bed now, to dream about all the beautiful music im going to produce tomorrow!

(or probably just forget everything :o )

haha dont worry about it, once you get it, it stays with you forever and makes everything else look less intuitive.

dont say things like that:) I dont have time to learn anything else haha
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

yeaaah, i was wondering like, cause im only using the demo version of renoise at the minute, would i be able to open my save files with another tracker, then use the other tracker to export them as .WAVs?

i have every intention of buying renoise when i can afford it, but until i can afford it, i was just looking for a temporary way of getting stuff exported.

until the next student loan installment comes in!

you know, i have absolutely no idea. i looked around the renoise forum but couldnt find anything about it.

i did recall someone wrote a format converter which included xrns but you also gotta pay for that, in which case you might as well pay for renoise.

some free trackers might load up xrns files i'm not sure, but you could try that as theyre all pretty small programs to install then uninstall.

alternatively, you could record your track in audacity i guess.

but do pay for it as youre missing out on the render selection to sample, that alone made renoise the only program i've ever paid for. it multiplies your workflow by a gazillion times and takes a load off your cpu.

check out the kaneel videos in the tutorials section and you'll see what i mean.

in the meantime, happy trackering!

i've had renoise on my desktop for a while

just installed it after reading this

i've got as far as loading samples and programming them into the sequencer

but it seems strange. like theres only 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 etc and i can't seem to loop just 4 bars ie. ctrl+click alt+click etc..

also is there anyway to get the metronome to play + recording to occur when i hit the first note on my keyboard?

Read The Manual.

If you still dont know the answer, go on the Renoise forums and ask around.
