Introducing someone to Dubstep

Do you think it's better to make them a compilation/ throw some radio mixes their way OR take them to a Dubstep night straight up?

take em to a night - no doubt.

most people that would have the capacity for appreciating it on a pure "enjoyment of sound" level, or on an intellectual level, easily judge it as "head nodding music with nice sounds" or whatever..

take em to the DMZ (if u can) - the only way to attempt to make them fall in love with it and skank til it hurts!

yeah the night at The End is ideal as no one will be able to moan about there being no buses back to their ends (or at least close).

I know personally i liked dubstep a lot before i went to a night but once i did, it was a revelation. id hope that by bringing new people along, they would have a similar experience.

Yeah take them, spike thier drink with K and make tham sit in one of the bass bins alnight. That, will have a lasting effect I reckon.

Every dubstep virgin I have taken to DMZ/FWD has been converted.

Except one who fell asleep at DMZ at 3rd Base O.o

I wasn't convinced about dubstep until I saw Mala play in Leeds last year. So yeah…take them to a night

the breezeblock dubstep warz mix was the one that did it in for me officially.

i sent a friend a link to that mix last week and now he is HOOKED.

seems to be the one that's doing it for people. i heard about that mix from people who werent even into dubstep and they praised it highly.

nahhh, i have sent it to proplr too to try and convert.
its way too much to digest...most people are overwhelmed.

give em one of these first i reckon...both these can convert the weary...

I was into dubstep before I saw it live but seeing it live made me REALLY get into it. You need that sub, a dark room, vibes etc.

saying that i did convert a friend simply from them chillin at my hosue while i was mixing it....saying that they were already a grime head so might of made it easiers....what you think BB?

I liked the sound, but I wasn't converted...
Because in Halls, i have to worry about noise (my bass is turned to minus 5) and I wasn't listening properly at all.

Going to DMZ as my first night however - BIG change.

Take them out, if even remotely possible. Feeling the zombie love will help also.

yeah there is an abundance of parties stateside.
i was postin some good diverse mixes...of course a show would be great.

not an option for some people.

I had a bunch of crew round last night, none of whom are really into music at all, so I took the opportunity to mix up some old Tempa and Big Apple stuff. One guy heard Highland Spring and kept going "what's this, play it again..." - he'd never heard of a rewind so I had to explain, ha ha ha......
