i was told the place had funktion ones in all the arenas except the bar(which incidentally was still sounding crisp as fuck)Corpsey wrote:

Bloc Weekend 2008
scorn was excellent. highlight of my weekend.
respect to komonazmuk as well, didn't know how you would follow the boxcutter excellence but you smashed it and no mistake. nice one
respect also to the guy in reception smoking an unlit cigarette with his eyes a rollin' in reception when i arrived on friday. definately set the tone!

oh aye, forgot about Scorn, was an ill set, total deep and dubby...MINTkoose wrote:scorn was excellent. highlight of my weekend.
heres a nice shot, directly before we filled up all the mugs with water and balaned them on the plates. Under the sieve there is another mug>plate>tiuny cup with water. Toothpaste on teh fingernails and a tickled face, and raw square suasage...absolute hilarity...

More photos of nonsense and abuse to follow...
My highlights were Scorn, the Numbers/Wireblock session with Jackmaster, Rustie and Spencer, Ed Chamberlain, Milanese, Wee DJ's, Dexorcist, Warlock, The Black E aka Ben Pest and Cristian Vogel, Jerome Hill, Shelley Parker, Ochre....managed to miss pretty much all the dubstep which i was gutted about..
Heavy weekend though..

I remember my Dubluke mask being passed round backstage in Kode 9's set all dubstep heads (NType included!) trying to fix the bloody thing. But after all that don't know where I was during the actual gathering! I met a few DSF people at front of stage during Oris Jay's set and got excited standing up backstage to see a mask floating about so my apologies to the person was baptised with a feather duster from two feet above them!
Was a mad weekend, so many good sets -
Great to hear Amon Tobin dropping some grime in his set!
Was dragged along by Bloc's Irish contingent to see Current Value 'It's like dubstep without sounding like a slowed-down skanked-up version of drum'n'bass' apparently! 'It's wicked!'
Sublime techno from Dave Clarke/Cristian Vogel/EDMX (A beer randomly thrust on me by a man that I did not believe was Dave Clarke - I think he quite possibly was!)
All the dubstep that went off on Saturday night had me charging at the stage like a mad thing, many people I met were 'converted' to dubstep on the basis of Scorn and Milanese's sets alone!
Sunday all about acid house from Ceephax, the man who has never played bingo and probably never will!
Other highlights: beautiful sets from Christ and Claro Intelecto and Kommonazmuk smashing things up on Sunday.
Met so many great people over the weekend - the Welfairies' chalet was like a party within the festival, karaoke and dressing up security guards.
Highlight of my weekend was being tied up and strangled in the middle of acid house rave by man in a red dress. It was that sort of party!
It's just dawned on me I managed the whole weekend without spending a penny on a ticket, booze, food, transport or a hoody which has to be some sort of record!
I am writing an article full of my adventures, quotes and photos from festival goers - if anyone has anything they think's worthy of being included - let me know! It should be up on my blog http://crystalrachel.blogspot.com and Get Darker and possibly elsewhere by Friday check it!
Frebentos and brother was great to meet up - I saw you skanking during Skull Disco Frank you did not know who I was again!

Yeah it was pretty great.
Highlights were blatantly Kode9 and the Skull Disco lot. So so much, couldn't stop grooving. Also couldn't stop pulling up tunes at Skull Disco, but what can you do, hopefully no-one's too pissed off. Roll with the Punches was incredible. Never heard it out before, the bass dropped and it was all over.
Apologies to anyone I met on Saturday night, I have a rather major hole in my memory that was apparently filled with dancing like a squid and generally being a horrible embarrassing mess. I do recall meeting Corpsey though, so that's all right.
A Guy Called Gerald's jungle was amazing too, oh and lot's of other stuff.
Really sorry I missed the meet up and masks, did it go on at 9pm as planned? I saw Bracket wasn't on then and sacked it off, bit of a poor show.

Yeh soz, sets got switched up. What can ya do?4linehaiku wrote:I saw Bracket wasn't on then and sacked it off, bit of a poor show.
I am honestly having trouble remembering any of my set....I had been on it for a while by that point (getting to Pontins thursday night was a bad move) and i had fallen asleep behind the decks on a number of occasions. Highly unprofessional.

Out to Hijack for the commitment to the buzz, all about your top-hat and stick in the morning. BIG look!
Out to N-type & missus for bailing at the right time (when that mentalist Irish guy tried to climb INTO the TV).
Big up the company, big up the music.
