Dubstep is a genre who's roots were founded in multiple genres and one that prides itself on its diversity of styles and influences....this helps it remain fresh and vibrant. The doubts are part of the natural 'eb and flow' that a developing, expanding movement experiences. In the process of discovery, it's easy for us all to charge in one direction only to discover that that place is not as prolific as we all thought. Luckily Dubsteps' eclectic foundations mean that there is always an alternative......an area of low pressure to move into....thank fuck.

I've heard Geiom, Kode 9 and Dusk & Blackdown drop Burial tunes, and I don't get out much. You just need to check the right DJs. If people are playing music you aren't feeling because they want the crowd reaction then fuck em, go and see someone else instead. Support smaller nights and more innovative DJs, don't stick with events that bore you out of force of habit. If everyone who complains about big events getting predictable did this then the small nights would be big events fairly soon, and the big events might have to go for a bit more variety to stay on top (like FWD has done)...joni_speedbass wrote: burial is a good example - in all the exodus / dmz's iv been to iv not heard 1 burial track played at all - only 1 time i ever heard burial out was when komonazmuk n white boy played a track of the south london bouroughs ep @ senseless records night
The OP is spot on imo, there's lots of amazing stuff out there, lots of great DJs and lots of great nights.
Don't wanna be pedant but this is weird innit ?
so i guess everybody here like phatt bass and don't matter if darkness is for guy for example and burial voice for girl... i really don't understant
Other than that your post is really cool
What the hell are masculine and feminine element in music ... Don't wanna turn this into gender debate but i wanna truly understand...We both have the same brain, and stuffPersonally, I prefer songs that grow and morph with elements of feminine and masculine balanced. I enjoy elements of the 'smasher' tunes but honestly the deeper sides of the sound get me more excited.

Each holds a different quality to it, one masculine and one feminine.
Some music also has grounded earthy elements to it and some have air.
It's not really about thick bass or anything like that.
just some thoughts, all good if you don't agree.
okay i understand
