I do like their kind of Electro, but alot of it is just rubbish made to please the indie kids. I mean, "Boyz Noise" is just that, noise. It's really bad, in my opinion.Direct Feed wrote:Justice

actually agree with you....just trying to fit the mans bill....MSTRKRFT is really the only one from that list that I rate at all. The others have gone south with the indie scene as you said...

edbanger have blown up stupidly in the last couple of years, partly due to their newfound indie-electro appeal and this fusion of genres taking such a hold of the UK club scene, especially in London. Still, they have an excellent selection of very talented producers and artistic individuals-people like feadz (early stuff), mr oizo (not just a "flat beat" one trick pony), sebastian, justice (who got way too popular) even DJ Funk is on board.
Uffie is terrible and has no talent or stage presence, but she is serious eye candy, especially to pilled up teenagers. I speak from past experience.
Always check out Digitalism who produced an excellent album last year and remain one of the best live acts I've seen. The Presets (though more of an indy appeal) are also good in this area. Same can be said for the ever hospitable Simian Mobile Disco who need no introduction.
Should look away from the mainstream stuff though as there is so much floating under the radar in that scene that NEVER gets a look in- if you like Justice, check out gingy http://www.myspace.com/aintnothinbutging- heavier distorto electo but it goes off in a good club. Check out Tiga's imprint turbo recordings for some more distorto goodness from the likes of DIM, Duke Dumont, Proxy, Boys Noize.
I actually think Boys Noize album is good, though it seems to lack composure as a whole, which is upsetting but unsurprising, as his single releases are really the sought after products. Check out his side project with DIM entitled Puzique. Produced one of my favourite tracks of recent years entitled "Don't Go"- a filter house anthem, with bouncy deep percussion over a nicely chopped up vocal sample. His new bugged out mix CD for the suck my deck series just got a release too and this is very well mixed, with a lot of new stuff. SMD did one a while back which is a great selection of lesser known tracks outlining a lot of their house (even hip house), electro, even kuduru (ykno the buraka som sistema stuff that never really took off?- google it) influences.
For an all round compilation (unmixed) of (electro) house anthems and other lesser known gems, buy this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bugged-Out-Clas ... 989&sr=1-1
so cheap as well.
Some other stuff you should check out on an electro (house) tip:
Jojo De Freq
Alter Ego
Joakim
Justin Robertson
Holden
