ANY NEW YORKERS - A BIT OF HELP PLEASE
i'm in new york until sunday and i wanted to do some records shopping, where's good to go to get reggae round here, and is anything going on this weekend that would be woth checking out? any help would be much appreciated. thank you.
hey...
Reggae - Seriously, if you want to TREK out to the boonies. Go to Jamaica Queens, the last stop on the Queens bound F. VP records is there, and all the real dancehall/reggae spots are there. It's worth the trek, and its REAL NY...meaning dirty.
There is also a very small record spot on 3rd street between 2nd Ave. and 1st? called Jammyland. Real tiny, but they got stuff...Also, Deadly Dragon Sound on Forsyth St., nr. Broome St.
personal recommendation -- no matter what you do. dont go out until after midnight...drunk people watching is much more fun, and more silly nightlife stuff goes down after 2!
