hey...

Reggae - Seriously, if you want to TREK out to the boonies. Go to Jamaica Queens, the last stop on the Queens bound F. VP records is there, and all the real dancehall/reggae spots are there. It's worth the trek, and its REAL NY...meaning dirty.

There is also a very small record spot on 3rd street between 2nd Ave. and 1st? called Jammyland. Real tiny, but they got stuff...Also, Deadly Dragon Sound on Forsyth St., nr. Broome St.

personal recommendation -- no matter what you do. dont go out until after midnight...drunk people watching is much more fun, and more silly nightlife stuff goes down after 2!

Nice. We've got Moldy spinning all Dubstep this thursday night. Details are in the event section.
As far as reggae stores, i can recommend the following.

Clement Dodd Coxsone's Music City (yes this is the original Dodd sound store)
3135 Fulton Street (between Norwood & Hale)
Brooklyn,NY
718-277-4166
Roots vinyl and cds.

Jammyland
60 East 3rd Street
Manhattan,NY
212-614-0185
Heavy roots vinyl collection.

Mondo Kim's
8th Street & St. Mark's Place
2nd floor
Manhattan,NY
212-598-9985
Major Roots and Dubstep vinyl.

BreakbeatScience
Orchard Street between Houston and Stanton Streets.
Manhattan,NY
Look for the wood looking store with the bird logo. Records in the back.
DNB & Dubstep

Seriously, go to Jammyland. Probably the best place in lower manhattan, and the people that work there are really nice and helpful.
