Alright... interesting evening... first I am gonna talk about the event in general and second I am going to send a direct message to some "individuals".

Again Lighta! has done it. Bringing in the sound the way it should be done.
Micheal Red's set was more then just opening up the night with a "warm set". stellar track selection. I enjoyed Taal Mala's mashup drops. very creative and constructive.
Rusko on the other hand was absolutely insane.
I left before bias got on but I am sure he slewed the crowd
Props for seeing tusk, macro, krusha, cure and ninja, and dangamouse and his friendds all wondering about throughout the night.
Where the hell was max and ben?
Finally it was a pleasure to attend this event, Lighta! never disappoints me at all.

--------
Now here go's the second part, First and foremost I will tell you I am not a part of Lighta!, so what I am about to say here is strictly representing what I have to say. Tonight there was a number of individuals who decided to come to the show for only 1 purpose... and that is to cause trouble. No better time on there hands at all. As I was carrying a conversation with dangamouse one of them decided to bump into me on purpose.... just like they did with others in the venue... kinda like a pinball machine yet... the venue was no where near to be half full since it was early into the night. They humped into me right where I had the bag with my digital slr camera which easily retails for 800-1000. The force could of damaged my camera... but what do they care? but not even 2 minutes after that while michael red is spinning a set one of those decide's "hey here's a great idea and I'll try and walk backwards right into the table where the equipment is all while I have a drink in my hand.... Not only did you disrupt someone's set.... but you also ran the risk of damaging a xone 32 mixer... Retails almost 2000 dollars.... 3 turntables which retails for 700 each and 3 cdj's that retails for about the same price. As well as a recorderThen you decided it would be a great idea to start eyeing people down... Only in the end for one of your buddies to get his head smashed up because you guys decided it would be a great idea to pick on a random person. Apparently who ever it was used someone's license plate as a cheese grader to slice your friends head open. Why your friend was dressed as a barstar at a dubstep party I'll never know....

But mark my words, any dubstep community whether if its local or worldwide... doesn't need you to be around... If you probably haven't noticed by now the events that Lighta! throws is nothing like ANYTHING in this city. Its unique in its only way because everyone will smile at each other and even become friends given that the halo of a positive atmosphere is present... familiar faces that you see every day... sure enough you can find alot of things in common with many people. Its people like you who kills the vibe and I don't think anyone wants/needs that.

There's alot more stuff I can say... However... I was brought up well, and it would be to rude for me to post it up. ....

------------------------------------------------------

Anyways pics will be up soon... Dubforms 8 coming up! can't wait... and next month.... JOE NICE....

All things considered, it was a sick party.

Those that wandered in off the street looking for trouble, I sincerely hope you stay out of it next time. No good for anybody.

Definite big up to Lighta! and Rusko! Way to bring the fire y'all!

yes. rusko. what the time. tore down the roof, the walls, and the whole block.

aside from two issues, the party rocked and swayed and twas a good time.

number one issue would be those dudes that xirrus mentioned. my heart goes out to all those affected. man. seriously. without getting too deep into it, i'll just say that there will be 2 security staff on at VIVO for upcoming events there, and they will be security that will happily ask people acting that way to leave, and make sure that they do leave and don't come back.

anyone up here reading this - if you see or experience anything going on like this, please come and tell me or security (be simple and factual, even if it's just a "vibe" you're catching from someone, say so).

the only other thing i'll say on thuggish attitudes is that light attracts dark. it's natural balance. the lighta! crowd (big up yourselves!!!) know how to have and good time and uplift the vibes and uplift each other. that's the smiling faces and warmness that xirrus and tonnes of other people talk about. we're gonna have to deal with some shit once and while.

and.. people give what they get, and get what they give. one of the most menacing of those dudes picked a fight with this very calm and collected tall dude who was just out for a good time. this tall dude did not want to fight or cause a scene. the thuggish dude gave him no choice (outside the party and down the street) and rushed him with flying fists. the tall dude literally wiped the pavement with this thug. really, the thuggish charcater got taken down hard. afterwards, the tall dude just walked away and left... not saying i'm down with wiping the pavement with someone, but everything in balance and you give what you get.

the second issue would've been skipping needles. aaaah, those skippin' needles. we did our best at the time to prevent this, and rusko still managed to absolutely kill it despite the situation. yes! wasn't bass feedback, and wasn't the needles themselves, it had a lot to do with people jumping around so much to the fresh tunes and maybe some un-tested new boxs the record players were in. anyways.. we'll sort it for next time. yup.

but subtract those two things from the equation and man! ripping tearing serious seriousness. boh! big up and thanks to each and every person that came together to rock out and rip it up. i'm not going to forget the entire place screaming and practically moshing to some of the drops rusko pulled.

and, heh, those repping the bc green party - rusko was impressed. very impressed. heh.

next up is MAGA BO april 10th, POLE april 12th, JOE NICE april 26th.
and some largeness for may and june as well.

yes everybody!

yeah it was alot of fun and Rusko tore vivo a new **shole

but yeah skipping needles I dunno I didn't have too much of a problem once I got er goin but hoooolyyy shit the bass feedback in the needles is really fuckin annoying and Michael I hope that you will accept my donation of a proper booth for the next month as I got one at my house and I will deliver ;) then you will not have to worry about when people jump up and down or bump the booth that the tables will skip.

But more about the bass hum I'm gonna do some mad research cause I know it shouldn't be humming at all if all is correct. You just gotta up the bar and get mad technical with the sound and level set up is all. And I just wanna help that come about so that if and when we do a major soundsystem mash up in Vancouver we will have things mad pro! No skips hums or pops. Plus then when headliners or locals play they can be heard on the best possible set up that we as Vancouverites and loyal fans of bass driven music could possibly provide.

big up lighta!

A potent night indeed. It was so good to see everyone holding down the nicest vibe in the face of some serious ignorance. Huge respect out to Rusko: such a brilliant set and a really really good guy.
