bashment kicks major ass, definitly a track id like to use. i just had it with the first track of aphexSAWII and the ryhtym was kinda thrown in a weird way i liked it a lot, but then i went back and listened to your track again by itself and i love what it kicks in. can i ask where that synth line is coming from? the take your time sample is great and the tamborine is very appreciated haha. the textures are just right and i honestly am listening on laptop speakers right now. horrid i know. anyhow, diggin it diggin it. got conquer dub startin up now....that sample is doin me GOOD and well, the tones are really kick ass.

i dunno why no one is showin this love its pretty sick.

holy fuck i just put the headphones on... lovin this kickdown, so soothing.

dude this is really good. that one sound sounds like some sort of animal that morphs into a creepy alien sound.

i like the way legalize it swings into existance

Thanks Endo! I've been mixing these down over and over trying to get the levels right. I'm using all outboard gear so it's tricky to get a clean sound, also I can't save my mixer settings so it's a little different every time.

The synth line in Bashment is just me playing on a Casio CZ101... I think I might have been subconsciously thinking of another tune but I'm not sure what it is. It sounds familiar to me too, but it's not a sample.

Herbman Corner Dub:
I think there's too much of a reggae thing going on here for me. The whole intro just sounds like someone's reggae track with more reverb. Not for me this one.

Bashment:
A promising intro, and some nice bouncy happy tones, but you should check either the quality, or the levels on this one, something isn't quite right. I do really like this though, it's almost dancehall without the skipping beats.

Conqueror Dub:
Not sold on the intro, but when the sub comes in I like the bass pattern, real nice, and the little organ keys on top are awesome. Is that played by yourself or a sample?

Legalize:
Not enough punch on the kick here for me. It's like the low end has been EQd out or something. I like how the beat starts to skip along a little, and the bass is nice and squeltchy.

Overall I'm not sure there's enough sound in your tracks. I know that's not very helpful but they don't sound 'wide' or full enough, and although there's a minimal aspect to dubstep - I think it's lost here.

Also you should stick the tracks on MySpace at a higher quality, there's alot to be said for 192 and even 320 - even if you don't allow people to download the track.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree with your overall assessment, I'm struggling to get my tracks to sound more "full". Even on the original files they're not as loud or clear as released tracks. I uploaded to myspace at 192, it won't take 320s because the files are too big. All the organ parts are played by me. I think I need to do more of that, add more instruments etc. - to fill up the track. It's just time consuming, but of course there's no shortcuts. I definitely like playing the parts on a keyboard controller better as opposed to sequencing with the mouse.

Sorry you didn't like Herbman Corner - I did sample another track heavily, it was my attempt at a "dubstep refix". Personally I can't get enough reggae... but maybe I overdid it on the Space Echo.

Definitely making some progress here - got some monitors, figuring out what's working and what's not. Thanks for taking the time to check out my stuff!
