I picked up a bunch of the Kursed tunes off here, the Intoccabile Grime Related release, and the Ramadanman tunes. Definitely digging the layout of the site, and the prices are reasonable too.
The idea of the secure promo list is brilliant.
The only downside is that my bank charges me an international transaction fee for purchases on the site. But that's my bank's issue.

Thought I would go through our latest label rates and what other features you get for free when signing up with Digital Tunes:
We will pay you each month to your Paypal account or Bank Account 70% of sales minus VAT and collection society fee. We pay promptly and labels are normally paid the first week of each month. We have no hidden fees or charges for uploading content or encoding... so signing up is 100% risk fee.
As well as having your tunes on sale on the Digital Tunes store, you also have access to a number of free services when signing up:

As well as having your tunes on sale on the Digital Tunes store, you also have access to a number of free services when signing up:
- - promo distribution service: using our promo distribution service you can send out secure, single use links to your tracks as mp3, allowing you to easily get your tunes out to djs and key people in the scene
- custom flash mp3 player: each label can simply copy and paste a flash player containing all their tunes and links to purchase onto their myspace or other website
- buy now buttons : for each release in the system a buy now button is generated which can easily be copy pasted into myspace and other sites
- banner system: all labels have access to the banner system, allowing them to place banners directly onto the store to promote releases.
From the consumer side, digital-tunes looks brilliant. Love the way it looks and works, and the straight-up no-BS attitude towards artists/labels is appealing.
Just a couple of quick questions about your terms (my apologies if I missed anything already in the PDFs):

PS. Perhaps these would be good questions to add to the FAQ?
Just a couple of quick questions about your terms (my apologies if I missed anything already in the PDFs):
- I just want verification that the licensing is indeed non-exclusive, and the licensor is not limited to selling on digital-tunes exclusively. This is a very important point, and I think it should be communicated in a clearer way on your website. Non-exclusivity is even a really big selling point, and an advantage you could market.
- Upon termination of the contract, I assume the rights as outlined in the contract are terminatedl, digital-tunes no longer owns distribution rights and it will remove the licensor's materials from it's inventory and distribution channels?
- How about materials released using a Creative Commons license? IANAL, but there seems to be a few points in the standard contract that could conflict with parts of CC licenses (non-commercial, non-sampling for example). Perhaps it would be a good idea to offer a separate contract for CC materials, or include a section about it in the standard contract, to allow distribution of such stuff on your store as well.

Unempty: answers to your question:
- yep contract is non-exclusive, you are not tied down to us in any way
- yes those rights to sell go away once the contract is cancelled. And in practical terms you have access to the admin system and can inactivate a release 24/7 if you wish
- hmm creative commons, i havent looked much into the different types of licences, but we assume you want to make $$$ from your tunes so i guess most creative commons are incompatible
(and thx for those comments!)

I've been a customer from the start and have spent a lot of money here not just in Dubstep. But I'm seeing the prices slowly creep up and the commission go go down (if I've read this thread right)
Still you're still one of the cheapest but please don't try and charge vinyl rates like Beatport do as I may as well buy the wax even if the B/A side a shit filler.
I still spend a shitload on Vinyl and cut Dubplate but I love to have some tunes to mess about with on Traktor

Our prices have always been fixed in euros at 1.50 a track... unfortunately because of the strength of the euro the prices in other currencies may have been going up recently, as they are calculated using the standard ECB exchange rates.
