lots of nights with more local heads playing going on as well (harmitage/tremor/down low)
sick dub/reggae scene too (freeking/rebel lion/roots renegade)
a fair bit going on here considering!

and you don't mind shit house sound systems that do an injustice to all that is dub.. (wot no BINS??)
Wiv all respect DOA sort out a proper system or give up, Malas sound was embarrassing (still had a good scank mind) and Norfolk has plenty of Dub rigs.
If you live in Ipswich first I would recommend moving... if thats out of the question buzz down the A12 or train it to london or as has been pointed out put ya own on!! If not you Who? if not now when?.. Easy I

Dont get me wrong and no disrespect but systems set up for breaks n cheesy house are just not up to the standard needed for a good steppin night, and from what ive heard from people its counter productive, it puts them off coming, I for one wont bother unless extras sounds are put on (as promised by doa for the Mala night) Decent artist deserve decent sounds as do payin punters.. not alot to ask for really, am not askin for the Gramps rig or anything, just something that plays low octaves without 'flabbing out'...

was a good night I agree but couldv been better thats all :)

Yeah the night was spoiled by the sound and i don't understand why they said they would have extra sound and didn't. They didn't get any for skream either and said that they did?!!! I know quite a few people who would've come if it wasn't for the rubbish mustard system.

A friend of mine offered them a good sound for skream at a good price aswell.

Big up Doa for putting these acts on but its gotta be done proper imo.

Got to agree with this - it's especially frustrating having seen Rebel Lion nights in there, Roadblock etc. when they had a bit of extra sound and it made SUCH a difference to the vibe of the night/general listening enjoyment. It's good that we've got a promoter who's prepared to take a risk and get some big names in, but like it's been said already it's going to put people off coming to more nights and be detrimental to the scene in general if the sound system isn't up to scratch. True that the usual breaks crowd you get upstairs in there probably don't care much about the sound quality, but personally I'd imagine the dubstep crowd is a bit more discerning.

I have ton agree with this. I'd been looking forward to this nite for a while but that soundsystem was a joke, so much so that i ended up leavin b4 mala even arrived, it just wasnt worth stayin for. sorry. there was absolutley no bass wotsoever and wot there was of the mids and highs was v. poor quality. as breadbin said it was even more disapointin that the promoter had said in another post that there was xtra sound laid on for both skream and mala. clearly there wasnt, was this just to get people thru the door? yes respect to doa for bringin these names to norwich but it just fact that dubstep is a genre of music that relies so heavily on the low end that u have to have a decent system to do it justice. its a real shame because wot i did hear mixin wise, tune wise was top quality but i have to say i wont be attendin another doa until that system is sorted (and i wont be relyin on the word of the promoter). as has been said its not as if nrwch is short of decnet soundsyastems and people who will be more than happy to hire them out. i hope this isnt seen as me havin a good old bitch but that this criticism is taken on board to improve the night.

yeh have been for a while!
its not big on their agenda, n theyre not that daring in their selection from what i heard, but fairplay to em! everyones getting on it, even the electro nights play the odd tune. look out lava/ignite haha

n norwich heads, i now consider it a personal mission of mine to improve DOAs sound for next time haha

DOA talked with mustard before skream about extra system n mustard said theyd arranged for extra amps, the same conversation took place before the 3rd.
DOA werent trying to knowingly decieve anyone, obviously any efforts made by the club werent quite enough tho.
im gonna leave this there tho, cos its not really my place to discuss.
