HELP WITH MY TANNOY 5A SERIES MONITORS

Post by ozols man » Thu Apr 10, 2008 7:21 pm

OK. Basically i got em off someone, he said they have never been used. Both speakers when plugged in light up but no sound comes out wot so ever. the geeza suggested that it may be something about downloading a driver off the net or something.. any ideas? i havent parted with my money yet so i know it isnt bull shit..

cheers

Do your monitors have computers in them? I would seriously consider not parting with your money mate...

Arrange a meeting to give them back when he arrives punch in the face to knock him cold for a bit, piss on his face and throw the speakers on top of him. Alternatively you could just say 'no ta mate your having a giraffe'.

Good - Ok what leads are you using? and where are they coming from? (output on soundcard/mixer etc.) check the gain whilst some music is playing check the right outputs are selected on your soundcard

i looked the speakers up quick from tannoy.. i'm pretty sure your friend is talking about a mute switch that should be on the front panel.. you've pressed that, right? :)

watch out for gains when testing them out so you really wont blow them or/and ya ears
