When I was walking home from school, I was playing some tunes. Somebody on the same side of the road a few paces from me was playing Dubstep, and I thought I would piss him off by playing my music LOUDER than his. So he started playing old stuff like Coki - Officer and I was there playing The Others - Invasion and then he stopped and we broke into conversation.

that's when it gets all retarded,
not when someone asks you if you got any rnb, but if you can stop playing what you're supposed to play at the party.

one time i was playing with a friend at a party, big b2b as we were the only dj's
anyway he started off with dubstep, and the guy organising it said people were asking if we could play more "uptempoe danceable stuff".
after getting that question for a few times i then started to play booty house beginning with dj assault unsulting "yo relatives", dedicated to the naggers. :D

I used to get stupid requests when I played back in Bournemouth, usually at the Fire Station on Fridays.

"You got any Sean Paul?"
"This IS Sean Paul"
"Yeah, but not this one"

"Mate, play some RnB, no one can dance to this shit"
(*glance over shoulder at packed dancefloor*)
"Sorry love, got a couple hundred people here who think otherwise"
"Yeah, but they must all be on Ecstasy then"
"Yeah, get a lot of them druggy types down here on a Friday"

Had great one the other week at a breaks party uptown by some sloshed Aussie bird;

"This is fucking great, what do you call this music?"
"Breakbeat, glad you like it"
"Yeah, it's fucking quality. You got anything with Britney Spears in it?"

All time classic was some numpty at small London club/bar, who was putting in some sort of request for something mid-mix, never a good thing to do. I asked him to repeat himself, so he lent over and turned the volume down so he could ask me again

TBH, I was a taken aback that someone would actually do that in the first place.

The bar staff clocked him doing that anyway and he was politely asked to leave a couple of minutes later.
