I dont think I would travel across the world to listen unlike some people.spadie wrote:Jonnyrebel wrote:Its taken over my life mate
do you consider dubstep your main genre of choice?
no offence but that was so horrible to readspadie wrote:Me too! About 2 years now - listen night and day- blocks out reality!Jonnyrebel wrote:Its taken over my life mate
Think it's [generally] lack of lyrics [any lyrics that are in dubstep, [generally] have no relevance to my life] also the vibe it gives me .. hard to describe - but I used to look too much into lyrics - Dubstep is really pleasurable / chilled music, without me self evaluating all the time... [make sense?]
Still can [and do] listen to anything though - and enjoy [last "fad" was Thrash!]- BUT, Dubstep just takes me to another [uncomplicated] place
Next closest thing was / is Trance, but over commercial now- and always on the happy euphoric tip [which is fine] but your'e not always like that [well i'm not!]
As for not sitting through a two hour radio show - I sort of know where you're coming from - before going to my first DMZ [1st Dubstep night] I knew I loved the music, but thought, can I really listen to that for 8 hours solid ... well yes I could - and was dissapointed when it finished!

this statement could not be more true for me, I've made a new group of friends who I wouldn't be as close to if it wasnt for dubstep, and I only keep my job so I can buy more records, I spend most of my time on here

Aaahaha shut ya raaty you've always been a dubstep head you know it.Bainbridge wrote:At present yes..... tho i hate to say it.
Been a big dnb head for many years, tho i feel it's all gone a little stale as of late, dubstep has definatly filled the gap.
It really does sound cheesy but dubstep was actually what i was looking for...only took me 16 years to find it like.

pretty much Dubstep only nowadays, but if i had to list it, or do genre mash ups :
Dubstep
Garage
Sublow
Breaks
Miami Bass/Classic Electro
Reggae/Dub/Danchall
Minimal/Tech house
yeah, as someone else has mentioned above for themselves, when i was first introduced to dubstep , it was like i had found home.
