that, in my opinion, is disgusting
Don't worry. Who ever wins on that pollicie will only raise them agian once there in power. It happens every time. Blame the idiots who believe it and then vote for them, forgeting this happens every general election. A mild overstatement but you know what i mean :D
I think he may have been joking

fat tax , hopefully.

as for cameron - has been in the House of commons for only four years and has never held government office... his speeches are filled with stupid cliches... also it doesnt really matter as not many governments ever get to hold more than 3 or 4 terms at most so he'll get in sooner or later i think. also he goes back on forth on policies -eg in 04 he was vocal about cutting immigration and then went back on it after it came under criticism. he was also a p.r man.

no party seems particularly appealing.

or maybe they could just stop handing out benefits like candy... our welfare state saftey net is far too high, too many skanks living off the state (the ones that make a concious effort to avoid employment anyway).

Correct me if I'm wrong - Bizzle did this tune a while ago called Back 2 School - over the Ludacris Act the Fool beat, didn't even get a release despite being a yrical tour de force about the benefit of education.

Cameron hasn't got a fucking clue except in things other than marketing, and that he's largely aped from New Labour anyway- see attempts to get rid of the Conservative torch a la Mandelson getting rid of the Red Flag of Labour in 94 (think it was then -correct if I'm wrong), withdrawing from Conservative grouping in Europe in a desperate attemtp to find his clause 4 etc etc etc

His stint as leader has been largely marked by tearing up the manifesto that he helped write only a year ago combined with publicity stunts that the media seem more than happy to lap up simply because they as fucking sick of Blair as the rest of us.

For christs sake:
- taking a plane load of journalists over to see a glacier melting and complaining about climate change having flown the whole junket out there in a jet

- making a fucking huge fuss about applying for plaaning permission to get a wind turbine on the roof of his Notting Hill home, and then going all quiet when he learns the fact that the local (Troy controlled) borough council won't give him planning permission for it

- making a point of cycling to work every day despite the fact there's a car full of tories following him around to take all his paperwork with him

- trying to claim he's got some urban credentials despite the fact that his parliamentary constituency is in Oxfordshire, not Notting Hill, and despiet the fact he's gone to Eton; furthermore this almost certainly bars him from being able to talk about the issues affecting most deprived youths in this country, and as such his claim - age old - that violent music encourages violence is based on nothing more than easy assertions that the Daily Mail will be able to run with easily.

- shamelessly trying to grab votes in the South West by picking Ernie... by Benny Hill as a Desert Island Disc (ok - that one's a joke - need to lighten up the rant a bit)

Meanwhile his reorganisation of the pary ranges from the disrespectful (to his own members), to the vote grabbing, to the idiotic:

- Selecting Priti Patel as an A-list candidate despite the fact that in 97 when stuff wasn't looking so hot for the Tories she fought marginal seats for UKIP - the migratory vote causing the Tories to lose a couple

- Adam Rickett - did anybody SEE this man on Question Time, beyond idiotic - but if Scwazanegger can win based on hard nosed political debate such as "your tax policies have holes so big I could drive my Hummer through them" - then who's to say this bleach blond idiotic lighweight can't

- (Forgotten name - will scout round and have a look for it) - Getting a woman on to the A-list based solely on the fact that she once harangued Blair over schools policy on C5's The Wright Stuff. When asked of her political aims, she's replied variously that she would like a safe seat (who wouldn't), and that she would like a by-election to be called so she could face Blair head to head. WHAT PLANET DOES SHE FUCKING LIVE ON - there would be NO circumstance under which she could face Blair head to head in a by-election - unless the Tory candidate died during a general in Blair's constituency, in which case it'd be a delayed genereal - not a proper by-election, and in that case it'd be pretty much completely mutually exclusive with aim 1. I'm all for getting non-politco types involved, but fucking imbeciles, bad news (I know that most of you will probably consider all politicians imbeciles, but the fact is that most of them are fairly fucking clever and could be making a lot more money doing other jobs considering their levels of drive and qualifications).

Paulie - Tories have said already that they will make no promises to lower taxes - Labour will probably continue as before - and Lib Dems have pledged a 2p cut on income tax cased on higher taxes raised on high carbon emmision vehicles and air travel.

I am fully aware that I will probably experience a total shit storm of opinion raining down on me for this post, but I fully beleive that this man is the devil incarnate and that people will end up voting for him based on the fact that he looks nice on Richard and Judy's sofa, forgetting what life was like under a Conservative Government last time around (Black Wednesday anyone?). Apologies if I've ranted on too much and pissed a lot ofpeople off, though I may as well throw mine in while it was up for discussion.

Should be able to see it until 10.30 tonight, it's in the last 10 minutes or so of the show.

And I've got a long enough memory the tories being absolute tossers, but must say Labour seems to be putting them in the shade at the moment. Be nice to have a political party actually worth voting for rather than this "none of the above" business at the moment.
I can see the bit about 'rap and violence' but how do you actually watch is back again? Has anyone man aged it yet?

We've been going through the problems of Neoliberalism a lot here at uni,
and protesting about its effect on higher education (fees, private investment, etc).

I just worry that people are going to let in some bright-eyed labrador of a Tory
just because he can roughly say the right things when thoroughly advised how to do so.

Cameron's answer back to Bizzle - I'll be honest it's not really as entertaining as the beef with Wiley

Government should not dictate the terms of culture.

You can abhor "urban" music that "promotes" violence, but considering government typically creates or enables the environment that results in these things, it would be hypocritical.

The ghetto is man-made and policy-made. Don't blame the people you've kept down for choosing to react or rise up in ways you disapprove of, self-destructive or not.

no party can realistically commit to lowering taxes. in fact, haven't the tories very recently (and quietly) ruled out this as a possibility?

they can commit to the war on rap though. i think i prefer it to the war on terror. how dull has that been??

don't think it would be quiet such a vote wooing policy but you never know, middle england has got hot and bothered about less.

Pretty much, in slightly different words. Although they'd never admit it... :D

Lower taxes = worse public services = lost votes

Better public services = raised taxes = lost votes

Clever speech writing and stealth taxes = problem solved apparently
