:o Well ok, i understand that its inevitable etc but im never going to like it, ive learnt to live with it in the d n b world but it did eventually kill the enjoyment of the music. As long as people dont go on about it then i can live with it....

Anyway whatever happens with dubstep weve got the excitement and passion of the genre right now!!Fucking love it

Now that's probably the closest to the truth. Although I reckon there will be more than one breakaway scenes.
Yeah I wasn't being too specific there... To be honest I think its a positive way of looking at things, and the history of music seems to often work that way.

I think its going to be an exciting time for music in the near future, what with the internet opening up all sorts of previously niche genres to wide audiences- wide audiences with access to music software, don't forget.

probably logical expansions of whats going on now..

the wobble has turned into distorted horrible rave leads
the stripped stuff has turned into techno with a shuffle
the guys who are sick of being dark are making sexy music

lawlz.

still. I dont want to know what it's gonna do, I want it to be exciting when it happens.

Yeah, people being dissatisfied with one sound usually motivates them to create what they wanted to hear but couldn't find anywhere. So negativity is a positive thing

The Night video was actually part of a machiavellian marketing scheme targetting the lucrative cephalopod market.
Precisely...the future for the sound is cephalostep...is why I cater to crabs, I'm ahead of the curve

Seriously, this thing with the subgenres is getting like someone who reminds everyone who'll listen that they're definitely not gay every five minutes. If people are that worried about getting pigeonholed they just shouldn't make tunes that sound like other people's tunes.

I absolutely agree with the man, Slothrop. U cant create a subgenre for every influence u hear in a tune...
