Slow Bullets EP (mp3)

Post by kane-testrack » Fri Jun 16, 2006 11:23 pm

Just finished off a new EP that includes a revised version of a track I posted here some time ago.... Please give it a download at:

http://testrack.org/mp3/Testrack-Slow_B ... 192%29.zip

or get individual tracks from:
http://testrack.org/2006/06/slow-bullets-ep-promo.html

Thanks to Shonky and 8bitwonder for their critiques of the first one (signal dub). Took some of it on board and I think it sounds much better now :)
Hope u all like the rest of the tunes anyway. Comments more than welcome as always...

be warned this version's got a promo message somewhere on every track. Thought I'd put one on in the vague hope someone somewhere'd actually pick it up.

happy listening :-)

Don't know what's up with that one either, choose download, takes you to an upload page, scroll down and says I 've exceeded my download limit before I've had anything.

I may just be being thick though (it has happened before). Try YouSendIt, they seem to be less wanky

Better late than never, computery bastard things eh. Liked the first tune, but did feel like it might have done better as an intro, seemed to get about 2/3rds through before it sort of dropped. Liked the dubby tinkerings though, and the bass from the off's a good statement of intent.

Signal Dub's well nice, was trying to remember which tune this was, almost got a sort of Chris Morris vibe to it (a compliment), the bass definitely sounds a bit more together on this, nice and amorphous.

CS80 Lfo dub's really nice, love that heavy bass that comes in, sounds sort of like it shouldn't work, but does. Crazy business, reminds me of being far too off my tits amongst odd company, which is something I don't get from music too often. The structures good, the repetition makes it all the more surprising when the change comes in.

Subtractor's well nice. love that sort of crippled shuffle rhythm. I haven't done any drugs in ages and this reminds me of many past oddnesses, which is good.

Cyclical Waveforms is really nice, makes me think of really slow acid house, the little interjections keep it interesting (and even at this age I still find the farty noise kind of amusing)

Good ep, has a really different vibe to it, reminds me of Aphex et al where you're never too sure if it's scary or funny, but I like that vibe and it sounds very original against other dubstepperiness. :D

Cheers for the feedback Shonky! Think trhat's about the most useful stuff i've heard about it so far :D ...it's always hard to decide whats good or bad about tracks when you've heard them a million times like...
See what you mean about that first one dropping too late, listening to it now. Might try a bit of re-arrangement on it.
Glad you like it as a whole anyway man.

cheers again :)

No worries, it's a good individual style you got there and your productions pretty solid. Know what you mean about the over-listening, sometimes it's good to get a fresh set of ears on these things.
