well daft tnuc, haneke remade it because he felt the film to be alot more relevant to todays western civilisation - as, afterall, the film is a subtle satire on our cultures obsession with violent entertainment.

Watched the comedy 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' the other weekend as my girlfriend wanted to see it

was amusing enough but not laugh out funny

they could have trimmed down the length also

am quite interested in going to see the Joy Division documentary film which has just been released

I enjoyed Control but am very much interested in hearing the real voices and testaments of the other band members

Weighing up watching Persepolis also. Has anyone watched it yet, what's the verdict?

And off to see Iron Man this coming weekend

i preferred the original hong kong film, but it was as good a remake as there's been of an eastern film.

The perfomances (even matt damon!) were excellent also, i thought it was one of the best hollywood 'blockbuster' films of recent years

hmm yeah saw infernal affairs as well .. could be the reason why I thought th departed was predictable :D liked it the original more than the remake..
I liked Di Caprio's performance though, he's a brilliant actor..
especially in 'blood diamond' and some of his earlier films..

The Departed confused me. i don't understand why they had damon's character get his comeuppance at the end, nor why they made him so unsympathetic and unremorseful (compared to Lau's character in the original)

they also didn't use the stroke of fucking genius that was the arm-cast idea
:|

i watched The Pick of Destiny last night and can't get the last song out of my head

"He gonna make you his sex slave/You gonna gargle mayonnaise?"

"We've been through so much shit/Deactivated lasers with my dick"
