they are just commercial sequels

the soundtrack of taxi films is excellent though, proper Marseille hip-hop
this man speaks the truth. the ST for Taxi has some sick instrumentals and cuts.

the cow in la haine is  . Also the Soundtrack inspired by La Haine (as opposed to the actual movie soundtrack) features some of the best french hip hop of the mid 90s. It's the same cover as the movie but red if i remember well.

Also the other movies coza mentioned are all worth peeping. I'd add 'L'appartement' with Vincent Cassel, but it's not an 'urban' movie. It's a dope french movie tho.

there are some amazing french thrillers from the last few years (none of them remotely ghetto, but, yknow, so what) - i'd recommend

Harry He's Here to Help
Hidden
Betty Fisher and Other Stories

talkin about french movies...
yamakasi, banlieue 13, les fils du vent... love these parkour movies

as for "la haine".. an absolute classic in my eyes !!!
a movie which rivals it in regards to content and cinematography is "cidade de deus" (city of god)

Rollin with the Nines was intense...so I'm guessing there's similar ones
out there..?
'rollin' with the nines' is a fucking terrible film. everything about it.
'kidulthood' is pretty good.
'scum' is awesome.

Hi, it's just a lil message to defend the movie ' La Haine ' .

I'm french, and, as other persons in this topic, I like this movie.

I personnaly see the americans movies in the american language. You should see again La Haine in French, you'll probably more appreciate it .. ?

The " La Haine-like movie " is called in french : Ma 6T va crack-er -> Ma cité va craquer. More violent movie (forbidden under 16 yo) with enormous french rap track and one with KRS one...

See it in french, it will be better...

Great film and that Cut Killer scene making a NTM vs Edith Piaf mashup is a classic. :D
