not knowingly, no. was more of a joke, anyhow. all good tho... been said many times that it's not the tools that do the work.

i think elemental uses live

i agree its not really that an important a deal - if you can make tight beats and melodies - then you can do it on any program really - it all comes out of your head and the sequencer is just like the pen and paper ... when i first started with this whole tuneage business alot of stuff people were saying really got me thinking that all these different programs were totally different but really its all just midi sequencing so the only real variables are built in fx and pulg ins to an extent [save ableton, tho sonar and other progs are introducing the more loop based method]... big up skream for the stuff that man does on floops though!!

not sure what D1 uses but ill guess that hes got a hardware mixer, could be wrong.

skream-fuity loops and logic

loafah-logic

i reckon d1 uses logic- some of his sounds are sitting in logic suynths

hmm, i thought it would be more varied like lots of programs going on

lol. Easier said than done. An hour of programming drums makes my head cave in. Trying to learn Cubase from scratch is numbing to say the least.

Probablly will when it comes more naturally. At the beginning, everything is hard work. Like mixing, once it's second nature, you can enjoy it a lot more.

not sure if we're talking bout the same Orion... but i still work on it, orion platinum that is... better than reason imo, got also the WASP from FL (it's nasty) and you're able to use VSTi and DXi... anyhow this is not freeware

concerning the topic, think mastering of the choons is the key of a phat sound, although your source has to be clean!!!

To the guy using cubase

this is a good tip i think
what ever music your trying to make, you need to copy it to a certain extent, so have some music playing on your computer, stop it, make a beat layer, go back to the song see what theyve done, go back change the sound pattern whatever.

earlier today i was listening to a chune and i listented to the hi-hat and whilst the tune was on i programmed the hi-hat that i could hear almost within 1 minute or so and altho it was slightly different it was still good and better than spending ages trying to do it in silence

you also gotta realise theat there are often multiple sounds (usually no more than three) layered on top of each other to give more depth-u need to do this if you want a deep drum beat,

focus hard on drum beats, do some drugs or something, get into it, then focus bass, bass has layers occasionally and theres also no rules so do whatever makes you happy
