the office
nathan barley
extras
brasseye
jam
dark place
the armando iannucci show
time trumpet
big train
the mighty boosh
allan partridge
saxondale
peep show
monkey dust
father ted
fawlty towers

the list could probably go on, with most of us repeating names. Quite simply we are funnier than everyone else. Tis a shame we only get one or two absolute gems every now and again because tv will only fund programmes that appeal to the reprobate generation of stnuc that sit and watch tv all day. The amount of shit on telly that people seem to like astonishes me.

Channel 4 though, if your checking out the dubstepforum for research your new series of skins - your doing an alright job, peep show and keith allens tourette de france plus all your other 'lets shock the public with this' documentaries had my vote.
Just another number in the chuckle demographic

Big fan of black books, i generally thought it was pretty consistent actually, although each season did have a slightly different vibe and style to it.

Has anyone mentioned Goodness Gracious Me? Hilarious shit, the old radio 4 stuff is good too, got some on tape.

I love the darker side to Uk comedy, Jam has me in hysterics, probably more as a coping mechanism than it being funny, Monkey dust also

watched "the thick of it" this weekend .. absolutely brilliant and hilarious..
probably the best swearing I have ever heard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_7pyktzpY8

there's an australian adaption of it that just started a couple of weeks ago. It's called "the hollowmen". Quite funny, but no swearing...

i can't stand the young bloke on it, he almost ruins the entire thing

David Mitchell's barely concealed contempt for him makes up for it though

QI is the best of the panel shows methinks. Have gained so much wonderful useless information from it.

Stand up wise I love Russell Howard, Bill Baily and Eddie Izzard.

Keyboard/Guitar. With his live shows he has a proper set up with visuals and samplers as well. Really funny.

Can't understand the lack of love for QI. I suppose panel shows are only as good as the guests but when they have good peeps on its amazing.

Mock the Week is good but check out Dara O'Briain's stand up stuff if possible. I think there is one of his shows on youtube in about 8 parts. Seriously funny stuff :) He is from Ireland though so I don't think that counts as the UK.....
