delays

Do any people who use reason know how to get that reggae style delay effect, in which each tap is filtered out more.. sorry i dont know the exact name for the effect... but yeh, on reason 3 to be more specific. i tried a few methods but none were sucesful, any one got any ideas?

Got to advaNCED REVERB AND DUB STADIUM Patch IS QUITE GOOD.
Otherwise the Digital delay is good, you just have to tweak it till its doing what you want.

also check out the dub scrolls website - there's some dub delay premade templates for Reason that are nice.

if you can find it, the arcDev EchoTank XL VST makes some completely deranged dub delay noises.

Also, I second the dub scrolls stuff - the owner of that site makes some dub-oriented VSTs that are a bit fun...

in reason you can link up a delay with a filter or a malstrom with the CV gate thing routed to a slanting waveform, so that it filters progessively more over time. or you can do it manually with the same devices.

If you can get a VST host to play with, check out OhmBoyZ by OhmForce. It's probably the best delay I've ever used. The new PSP one is supposed to be pretty phat too, though.

using the delay as a send on the mixer works well. ive read thats what it was really made for and once i tried it it did seem to sound better...how excactly i dunno but imo it does sound better.

Don't really use reason anymore, but at combinatorHQ (which appears to be down at the moment) there are some decednt delay combis, a couple of which do a fair approximation of a roland space echo.

U-he's Morefeedback machine is also a monster, although not really a bucket brigade or tape emulation.
Avery good tape delay emu (which is hard to find now unfortunately) is the P1 tapedelay
If you're willing to spend some dosh audiodamages Dubstation is on another level.

analogic delay (which you can find at dubscrolls http://www.interruptor.ch/vst_overview.shtml) is a great one, as is audio damage's dub station (found here: http://www.audiodamage.com/product_info ... ducts_id=9)
