yes and no tbh
the a side of 001 im not feeling personally, the vocal that comes in jars me
the aa side is better, but i dont like the "stab" that comes in after the second breakdown its a bit too "obvious" (also i have a feelin the bassline is very similar to a top buzz tune circa '93) tho i do play the tune up till the second breakdown then i mix out sharpish :D
like the idea of the label, look forward to more bits :)
esp like the fact robbie dee was mcing down @ the night, one of my old time fav mcs

I'm definitely interested in seeing how this develops, if it does.

I think that's intentional if the title's anything to go by.
The tune you're thinking of is Living in Darkness (on Basement Records).

That Randall set is heavy but I'm confused- is the stuff he's playing new? Or is it just old jungle techno?

isnt this stuff basically dubstep?

I mean seriously, I dont see the difference...

And dont nobody say its obvious because jtek is jungle and techno, and dubstep is dub & 2step. Both are similar tempos, similar structures, and loaded from the balls to the brows with sub bass. As far as I can see jtek = dubstep = jtek. Somebody let me know if Ive missed something crucial here...

I mean if I made dubstep and started a label called ELEKTRNO and wrote a big PR piece about how I was combining elektro and techno to create something totally new, it wouldnt mean my music all of a sudden became electro-techno as opposed to dubstep.

bit of a rant but I gotta say I am confused

the jungle techno sound developed 91-92
dubstep as a sound didnt start to develop til nearly a decade later...
dusstep on the whole is more measured, less franctic
the sonic space between them is a VERY interesting place tho!!
