Lee Scratch Perry on Dubstep ...

Post by nemo » Thu May 22, 2008 8:13 am

They have a new type of sound they’re calling dubstep. Have you heard much about that?

I don’t know how it look, I never see it yet. But I am glad that people are creating on it, because the word dub mean that you can do anything; when you put drum and bass together, and when you take a guitar, or a piano, it’s dub still. So you would have your perfect drum, which is the heart, and your perfect bass, which is the mind. So with the dub, if people can find a different name for it, I say congratulations for the second generation of the now creation that is paying more attention to dub.

He might not actually like it when he does hear it :D

Sounds like he is just generally well wishing rather than blessing dubsteppers.

haha, he really is like god! my biggest influence ever and such an eccentric character, basically he is a bit nuts ive got a dvd about him back in the day and he cracks me bare jokes. i reckon he has mellowed down a bit now though, can't wait to see him think im gonna be in awe!

Lee Scratch's venture into Jungle back in the early 90's would lead me to think he would understand and maybe even appreciate true Dubstep.

He might like some of it, but I mean.. what if you played him some Rusko? he'd probably smash the record over your head and call you a rass clart.
