Dub Insight outta Bloomington, IL, here. My drivers license says, "Gareth Larson", and known as any variation on "Gareth" to my loved ones.
I just love music, and culture. The two always go hand-in-hand. It is through musics of many kinds that I find meaning and make sense of this mad experience of life. Somehow, for me, all things are defined through music and cultural expression.
Im an ex-punk and long-time lover of hip-hop. Punk led straight to two-tone, then old-school ska. Though somehow all my old friends were touring "hippies", my approach to Marley and reggae was through mostly UK punk. Most of all, though, is the might DUB!
somehow, through hip-hop and my fascination with psychedelic drugs, as well as one eye always watching the UK, I found house and "progressive" house, which jived with my disco and funk interest. Of course, electro hit me hard, bambaataa-style. I also regularly enjoyed other dance music, but currently don't listen to much beyond minimal techno and, of course, DUBSTEP!!
so, magically, my love of dub and dub culture/techniques mixed with my growing knowledge of mostly UK dance culture, as well as my everyday experiences with US hip-hop and punk/indie rock. I remember liking the uk garage a bit, but when i heard DUBSTEP, my head exploded.
I want nothing more or less than to be constantly active in music production and recording. No matter what, I'll be making something, or trying. So Im in love with dubstep now, and Im here to spread my mixtapes and my productions, but most of all to be here to enjoy the community.
respect to the dj's and producers. I hope to give back to you productions of the genius and quality you've given me. and respect to the fans, as every producer of music had to be a fan of it first and foremost.

Hi there, I'm also new to the forum although I've been lurking for a bit.
From Leeds in the UK.
I just love what this music is about.
It allows all my favourite styles of music to blend in with it, without saying It has to be like this or it has to be like that and without being obsessed about what style of beats a song has to use which tends to enforce rigid rules.
Love the diversity of styles and look forward to talking with people on here.

Hey all, Im Mindvillan an I just joined the site today. Wont bore you with an epic, just wanted to say im a massive dubstep fan and its good to see so many like minded people.
Its the music of the future. I cant explain it very well but the music speaks to me on a cerebral level. You hear certain tracks (for me 26 basslines, Chimpos- Badman no friend fish, the list is endless) and I have to get up and destroy the dancefloor. At the same time my mind is dragged into the music. I told you I cant explain very well....
I may catch some of you at Exodus/DMZ in leeds. Just look for the guy ravin out....
Okay maybe thats not such a great description.....
