"Process" is the Word.

"Dub" is a process as "Hardcore" is an other process.

Dub is a process, Hardcore is a process but "Dubcore" is just the title of a track... Nothing else !

Ohmie.
amen!

my 2 cents...

"core is in your core" like dark music, you can't make really dubcore, breakcore, speedcore, terrorcore etc... if you aren't melancholic and/or sad, misantropic and so on....

personally I'm this kind of person

tips
u can read some: kafka (metamorphosis, penal colony) / palaniuk / nietzsche(superhuman theory / nightfall of the idols / antichrist) / hesse (under the wheel)

u can see some movies: sin city / bladerunner / fight club / spun / Π - pi - "the deliry theorem" (Darren Aronofsky - with autechre sound tracks :) ) / requiem for a dream (Darren Aronofsky) etc...

u can listen to some music: Coil - dead can dance - bauhaus - cocteau twins etc...

after this you'll be able to make core music

you've to accumulate all your pain and only after this build a canvas of your pain in your seq. ;)

"Drops of crystal fall from my eyes of ceramic
Mirrors, Glasses, Skyscrapes.
This is what the humanity create from my pain
But me...
I'm pissing into its minds."

[keng~]

IMHO naturally :)

Fully disagree! An artist doesnt need to suffer to make suffering art... or something like that. Closest I can get to case-in-point is the man responsible for this "music" (I use the term lightly) is one of the nicest and most laid back people I've ever met.

I'd also consider myself leaning towards more dark, heavy and aggressive music when I make any but consider myself relatively laid back and upbeat.

this isn't "core", sorry dude....

take a listen to some of my tracks specially "like a bird" and "Inlad" (from my personal player below regular myspace player), from all of my tracks appear my pain for humanity condition, also in track's titles....

inlad suffering rarely appear on the shallow of humans...

often suffering people are very very jovial in interpersonals relationships...

often suffering people tend to help other people 'cause them need help, but the human condition not allow plunging below them help...

in music as in other arts the reaction to the pain result in an aggressive production (core)...

quoting salvador dalì

"could you define what's paranoiac, could you define it in more detail???
S.D.= Paranoiac is a spontaneus metod of knowledge based on the instantaneus association of delirius material."

if you read some of Leopardi (inventor of cosmic pessimism), after you've seen his home and known his human condition you'll understand why he was so suffering and why he wrote this kind of poetries / narrations / novels

but this is only a stupid opinion from a stupid person like me,

peace...

:)

Ps. xcuse my english...

I love berio's music but this is off-topic, isn't it?

did you ever try to connect a machine for magnetotherapy to a huge soundsystem?

music is not only "dance music"....

take a listen to some of william basinsky's music, is named electroacustic / avant-garde, or some of coil's music (avant-garde / darkwave / apocalyptic folk)....

this kind of music is not only noise, I remeber a track by duft punk that begin with a 56k modem connection noise, it is smaaart! :)

for eg, some of the biggest contemporary musicians use field recording for em composition (also I own a zoom H4 recorder for field recording...)...

have you sometimes tried to record two feets that walk in a grass lawn?

...well starting a track with this kind of sound is awesome!

and if you sculpt it with a granular synth u'll go in ec-stasi (from original latin meaning of the word)

for eg, take a listen to one of my track named "one thoughts about" or "ROM - read only memory", this two tracks are builded only with field recording, noises, delay's feedbacks, deconstructed noises etc..., so please take a listen and tell me if you define these "noise".

I think, NO! :)

@ the basement of this kinds of music there is "tape music" that was invented and adopted by Karlheinz Stockhausen,

could you define Karlheinz Stockhausen a musician?

I define him the biggest music scientist of 1900 with brian eno, luciano berio, cage, Richard D. James (afx) and so on..

:)

the difference is all in ur audio perception, the newest concept of music do not distinguish between "noise" and "sound", is only your perception, all is relative to your perception / mood / feel :)

in "core" music, this concept is extended and extremized due to the inland nature of aggression and aggressivity of the creation.

:)

peace.

Scorn live is amazing but frankly I get bored listening to his music at home. Just my personal view on the subject...
EDIT : plus I wouldn't call it dubcore. Rather industrial dubstep (although the man himself says it's not dubstep). Broken Note fits better for dubcore.
