Free/Cheap DJ software

Post by kidlogic » Wed May 21, 2008 11:04 am

Here's some I found, please feel free to list more if you know of them...

http://www.mixxx.org/ - open source and cross platform

http://www.ultramixer.com/ - never tried it, but there is a pro, basic and free version

http://virtualdjdownloads.com/ - Ive used an older version of this, and it was decent then and it now does video... free to try.

http://www.tactile12000.com/ - Ive used this one before, and if you can get the headphone splitter thing to work right its kinda fun... definately wouldnt use it for a gig, but fun to mess around on.

http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... raktor3_us - free to try, demo quits after 30 minutes and no saving

i used Virtual Turntables for ages, it's incredibly basic, quits after 30 minutes, only supports WAVs and MP3s and the guy doesn't make it any more so you can't buy it ...but it's pretty good :D

ive used a few of these, installing the kramixer automatically installs a malaware that opens up web pages randomly whenever you are on the net,
mixx is ok but a bit hectic to use,

i'll try that virtual dj one of these days, but tbh traktor remains untouchable!!!
plus its still fairly cheap to buy!!

ok.... I actually finally have some spare time this weekend to get to grips with these and play around... (meh, ou sont mes decks?! )

Does anyone recommend one over the other?! I may as well start playing with the best first ;)

Virtual Dj seems to be winning out...
