The best way (in my opinion) is to hit up djs that play the styke of dubstep you are producing and see if they play it - send them links on here, on myspace, on AIM and ask for feedback. If they like them and play them on their shows and at gigs then you should think about getting your tunes to labels - there's a list on here of all the labels with their myspace addresses etc to help you :)

The most important thing to remember is to make sure it is good enough. Quality control is very important- don't send half finished tunes or shit mixdowns because that may cost you later when you have better produced tunes

Very good advice, my mate got quite a few people listerning through his myspace. He said that some tunes he made about 2 years are popping up in youtube videos and on peoples sites. It just shows you, if a tune is good people will want to use it.
Sound Bwoy!

I think it's all about building a network rather than just spamming everyone you can. A few good people mean more than hundreds of randoms. This place is a brilliant place to start and I've found everyone is really helpful if you do things properly - especially compared to many other scenes.

And xx is right - get some radio play then start thinking about labels. Above all have fun and believe in your work but be humble - and appreciate all feedback, good or bad!

+ 1

If you're going to a event, burn up some CDs of your strongest tracks (between 2-4) to take. Put a label on it with your contact details/MySpace address etc, get a plastic wallet to put them in (all fairly cheap).

Give them out to the heads round the DJ booth and the people losing it in the middle of the dancefloor. Do the same for the next event you go to, and the next, and the next.

Make a new CD of tunes every month or so and repeat :D

Whether people want to give out free beats is up to them. Your comment about being on their "high horse" is bullshit though. Just because someone doesnt want to give out the music they make doesnt mean they're arrogant about it. get a clue man, and get over the fact that no one's giving you "free beats".

Where have i asked for free beats u muppet!

I was giving my opinion on why producers dont give out there stuff. I know a lot of producers who dont give out there stuff free as they think people should pay for it, due to exspenses and hard work

Get a clue man and come back when you know what your going on about.

Yeah connections and networks!
Myspace is one thing.....
I sometimes burn cd's with my best tracks and give it to people!
And do the same in clubs to ask for a gig, works sometimes if they like the style!
