DZ (SCUBA / BLACK ACRE / LODUBS / OFF ROAD / DUBKRAFT / BADMAN PRESS)

Ottowa/ Vancouver Canada

Biography:

In the international Dubstep scene many producers fill record bags and CDRs with their productions - but very few match the quality and consistency of DZ's efforts. DZ’s prodigious weekly output of music reaches dance floors from San Francisco, to Bristol and to Sydney and beyond. With 14 years of experience djing raves and clubs- DZ started focusing on production in 1999. DZ has produced Hip-Hop, Breaks, D&B and Dubstep music and has also produced a bit of Bassline as well. Other world class Dj's have recognized DZ's productions and there crowd moving nature Dj's such as Sinden, Herve and Diplo - just to name a few. He has releases currently on ; SCUBA, BLACK ACRE, LODUBS, OFF ROAD and DUBKRAFT and forthcoming releases on ; TRUE TIGER, BLACK ACRE, LODUBS, AUFECT. DZ will also be releasing music on a few imprints that are currently in development. Everyone of his releases thus far has been repressed – attesting the the popularity of his music. In addition to producing coveted dance floor singles - DZ's first full-length LP is being anticipated eagerly by the underground dance music world. As a DJ- DZ likes to push the envelop by playing mostly unreleased/ exclusive music from new and talented producers. His live sets are full of energy. With dub after dub fired off faster than you can say BADMAN PULLUP! DZ, or whatever alias he produces under to keep up with his creative output, is one to keep an eye and ear on.........just follow the rolling sub bass.

Phaded - (Konkrete Jungle Chicago, Dubfix, Foulplay Dubstep, Dubstep.fm) Chicago, IL

Image

Phaded began his affair with the beat in the late 90's, doing production and later Dj'ing a blend of Underground Hiphop, Downtempo and Dub tracks. Inspired by the musical brilliance of producers and artists spanning a vast number of genres, there was a constant compulsion to present some of the most underground of sounds and rhythms in his sets. Becoming part of the emerging Dubstep scene in the US was only a natural progression for Phaded, as it tapped into the many facets of his musical foundation. Over the last year there has been great success for his weekly broadcast- The Dented Sessions on Dubstep.fm as well as dropping crowd-pleasing performances around the Midwest US. 2008 only looks brighter for this sub junkie, with an eye toward lending more his own productions to the scene in upcoming months. Be ready for some bass weight with Phaded when you enter the building.

Cringer - (Part Time Suckers, Dubfront, WNUR 89.3, Dubstep.fm) Chicago, IL

Image

Raised by jackals in the darkest mountain recesses of Appalachia, Cringer emerged from the back woods armed with two turntables and a fattened sack of dubplates. Traveling to Chicago, he found home with the Part Time Sucker crew bringing his signature brand of bass-ridden drum-driven Jungle and Drum n' Bass. Since then, Cringer has crossed paths with the low level rumblings known as Dubstep and, after dueling with swords on the beaches of Ganryu Island, they joined forces to untwine soundscapes that exist where bass becomes "sub". Currently, Cringer can be found ruthlessly rattling bass bins, scorching dancefloors and tracking the sun in anticipation of 2012. To seek the Cringer, one merely need follow the trail of toppled speaker stacks and demolished sub cabinets.
