Yeah I've heard this term bandied about with reference to N-type, doesn't really do him justice in my opinion - N-type's selections are far better! :D

I've been called this before, even in press (can't remember which mag).

Madness. Andy C is a don but I want to be the Pat Sharp of Dubstep.

Some really negative comments in this thread, shocking really.

How people can knock Andy C is beyond me, although DnB is certainly not my genre of choice you can't fault aforementioned DJ's skill. Just because a musical genre has fallen out of favour does not degrade the inherent quality of those DJs pushing it.

As for Tiesto, I really couldn't care about Trance but he gives the continentals what they want, are you going to knock him for that? Look at his sparkling studio and the plethora of fans he has. I know I'd like to play to that many people loving dubstep.

Futher more make millions and be known as the best dj for the past couple of years and what not. I have no problems with tiesto, yet his music is shite but thats my personal opinion.

and yeah andy c is a serious bodmon, he + dj ez are by FAR the best mixers for underground music (bar house) dont really care what you say but them 2 are definatly at the top.

Andy C is a mack don, i dont think anyone honestly compares to him, top of his game for how many years now?

technically N-Type and Yunx smash it... so if u were comparing someone for ability, they are technically (imo) the best technical dubstep djs..

but andy c is andy c, yunx is yunx, and n-type is n-type

each dj has a different way of mixing, no one is the same, some djs are very predictable (cough mampi swift) but the reason why andy c is still smashing raves up since the dawn of time is because he is unpredictable and will tease the fuck out of you and bring it all down with a very tasty double drop or even a triple if your lucky. Likewise goes out to friction and randall very good djs

I think it's meant to be more of a slight than anything, unfortunately... like a watered down/commercial/mashup jukebox, rather than a scene originator. Which, if anything to me, signals an originator. If you have haters, you're winning the game.

In terms of mixing ability J5 is the best Dubstep DJ I've ever heard, dunno if I would compare him to Andy C though because his style is very different

I rate Andy C highly and if I can achieve anything close to what he has done I'd be a happy man!!

I took it as a compliment - for the same reasons you've expressed

yeah fair play to the man, just thought an 8 minute intro before he even got on to the decks was pretty funny

of course it's not a slight. even the most cynical dnb heads like me rate Andy C as the all time don. literally no one can tear up a dance like him, mixing skills, personality, selection (sometimes) are all top notch. being called the Andy C of anything is a compliment

anyway, Plastician is the Jeremy Beadle of dubstep, standard.

It takes him that long to wank himself off I'm sure.

Yeah man, I definitely had a small hand in getting the scene noticed

andy c is not the messiah of dnb. he's a very good dj, but he's not this mythical level dj that people make him out to be. i don't rate his selection at all.

now, dj randall or bukem.....all day, any day. having the newest latest box of ultra exclusives, doesn't make the dj, and these guys have made that point for 10 years straight.

word. randall is a serious badman. the whole "andy c of dubstep" thing must have come from a dnb head i asssume, but there are badman djs from all genres. plenty of benchmarks set by all kinds of djs that a burgeoning dubstep dj could aspire to.
