To all MP3 sharers
I know some of you are on Soul Seek, Bearshare etc but please read this.
I was having a chat with Luke.Envoy about this and that the scene is too small for anyone to share mp3s. Basically he said if you share Hip Hop it might be one less swimming pool for the artist where as in Grime & Dubstep it's a difference between continuing the music they love and getting a day job.
I know thats a bit exaggerated but the point being please don't share mp3s. http://bleep.com/road has loads of legal mp3s and there are quite a few CDs coming out aswell.

theres no point in taking away the little money there is in the scene
the more people buy stuff legally the more releases there will be, and the greater the chance for new artists to come through, keeping the scene fresh, i know people have differing views on this but if you wanna hear new tunes go to barefiles get a mix and listen to that, dont just happily download them for free, it takes a lot of hard work to produce a tune and its pretty demoralising having them given away for nowt

Like all the music I listen to; I discovered dubstep through file sharing.
I've spent several times more £££ on dubstep records and cds in the past
year than I spent on any music in the preceding 5 years put together.
I intend to continue both buying and downloading dubstep.
I'd rather pirate music than not have it at all.

It shouldnt matter what scene your in - stealing other peoples hard work is just bad. I haven't got a single illegal MP3 and I won't be starting any time soon. Thanks to people like Bleep there really is no excuse any more.
If guys realise they can get some money back for all their work its gonna act as an incentive for them to continue - which means better quality music for the rest of us.
Deapoh I've dropped you a PM.

It doesn't really effect the majer players. It really effects the small timers who, i believe some one has already said, will have to give up making music and go bach to they're 9-5. And ultimatly the end user suffers as there isn't any new music being produced because the people who would make it are so pissed off with they're jobs, all they can do after work is get massivly drunk so as to not have deal with the reality of they're shit lives .
Anyway enough about me. stop passin mp3s round.
ye get me.
