How people can knock Andy C is beyond me, although DnB is certainly not my genre of choice you can't fault aforementioned DJ's skill. Just because a musical genre has fallen out of favour does not degrade the inherent quality of those DJs pushing it.
As for Tiesto, I really couldn't care about Trance but he gives the continentals what they want, are you going to knock him for that? Look at his sparkling studio and the plethora of fans he has. I know I'd like to play to that many people loving dubstep.
"the Andy C of dubstep"
Big up Sam....the "people champion" -- i'll go with that everyday of the week.SamSupa wrote:"peoples champion" = JOE NICE
another interesting comparison. I'll run with this too.....tes la rok wrote:Theo Parrish and Joe Claussell of dubstep = JOE NICE !!
ok -- this one.....hmm.chamclowder wrote:Joe Nice...

I think he is the most diverse selecter ever. Caters for the majority of sub genres, has tech / jump up / some liquid / a few anthems / drum funkseckle wrote:andy c is not the messiah of dnb. he's a very good dj, but he's not this mythical level dj that people make him out to be. i don't rate his selection at all.Djslate wrote:Some really negative comments in this thread, shocking really.

now, dj randall or bukem.....all day, any day. having the newest latest box of ultra exclusives, doesn't make the dj, and these guys have made that point for 10 years straight.
really really diverse selection, i know what your saying but you only have to look at nightlife 4 too see that his TL on that is what the scene is today
chase&status
calibre
lomax
commix
heist
hazard
g dub
spor
break
are they REALLY shit producers? What i would call possible the BEST producers in the scene today for their sub genre
you dont see only liquid djs being at the top
you dont see only jump up djs being at the top
blah blah
ok maybe hype
what im trying to say is, he is adored by many purely because he caters for nearly all genres and he backs this up with the most TIGHTEST mixing around, not a clang in sight....and i can tell you now andy may have the fattest dubs the most VIPS but he doesnt only rinse them out.
ill agree with you randall is an old school bodmon
And whoever said andys dubs are cut at the same bpm. your most likely wrong as i have seen andy pitch chase before right before my eyes, and dont get me wrong but if you had the option to cut all your dubs at the same bpm wouldnt you? To free up time and give you more time to concentrate on a tease or a DD?

So I don't suppose anyone wants to volunteer to be the Grooverider of dubstep now...
Also, Andy C is excellent and has been for years, but the comparisons are silly. Plus I always liked Hype better anyway...

I've seen Andy C about 10-20 + times, and the last few times the sets have been really uninspiring. He plays almost exactly the same sets and his tune selection is too dancefloor orientated. He's done some amazing things for dnb but he doesn't compare to Bukem/Randall or even Friction who is much more diverse with his selection (imo)
