I am Dubotic. I am from Perth Western Australia which is where the Drum and Bass Artists Pendulum are from. Also AC/DC and INXS. I am very new to Dubstep. My mate introduced me into it as he has been into it for a while. But I did not pay much attention. That was untill I saw the documentary "Living inside the Speaker" about the Bristol Dubstep scene and I suddenly got it. That was last week. Since then I have written a few tunes and created a myspace music page. http://myspace.com/dubotic and also started a group with my mate Din called Dubstep Australia at facebook. That was on Saturday and now we already have 57 members. I used up all my download limit downloading Dubstep Mixes and samples to make dubstep. I can't get enough.

Respekt to all Dubsteppers Worldwide

I'm Dominic, from the Bay Area over in California, and I got into dubstep around this last New Year's. Was really into a lot of techno before that. Although I love all styles of dubstep, I am really attracted to songs which focus on broken beats and heavy and attention catching bass lines.

I can't make electronic music if my life depended on it, so I am trying out mixing, which is turning out okay...I am using Traktor though.

Yo, I'm new to the forum. I am a radio dj/producer/fan currently living in the DC area but soon I'm going to be moving to the Bay Area (where I hear there's a much bigger dubstep scene). Can't wait.

Check out my tunes if yr interested.

Hey everyone, I've been into dubstep a small while, came to it through more traditional reggae and dub, and love the way that vibe has been replicated in a more contemporary way. This is a great forum from what I've read and I look forward to participating and learning more about the music itself.

hi all,

im a dj/producer like many others on here. ive been clicking boxes and drawing tunes for quite a while now and after drifting between lots of genres my tracks have ended up sounding loosely like dubstep, so i thought id come on here and see what this community was saying. it seems to be quite a broad sweep of people from all sides of the scene which is cool.

im quite keen to promote my own music, but i dont want to shove it in anyone's face. "thanks for the add check out my track" etc. so if u fancy a listen try the link below or give me a message and ill send some over :)

thats about it i think

My name's Brian, living in Brooklyn, been into bass music since hearing "timeless" on my college radio station in 1994. Followed 'the hardcore continuum' through throwing dnb parties in the 90's, to throwing 2step parties in 2000 and 2001, to hearing a Joe Nice and MC Frisky set in 2005, when I got on the dubstep train. Been to a bunch of dubwars and interviewed Youngsta and Hatcha and Kode9 for earplug.cc over the last two years.

Been lurking for a while. Getting more active on the posting at the moment.

Anyways, nice to meet you all - keep steppin'!

Big up to the Leeds West Indian Centre crew! :D

Alright lads, I'm Danny from Manchester- living in Irealnd. I'm a techno/Hard techno/Schranz DJ who is just discovering a massive love and respect for Dubstep (thats down to my housemate).
I make music but down to my laptop dying and taking 3 months work with it im having to start all over and since I have been listening to nothing but dubstep this past couple of weeks I decided to come on here and get myself well and truly into it.

Grettingz from Eire!!! :D

Wassup people? I'm a newcomer to the sounds of dubstep. I'm 21 and from Croydon.

Heard dubstep around but never really knew what it actually was. A mate of mine is a DJ and a big music freak and is always giving me tape & CD mixes and he was the one that properly intoduced me to it and has been banging on about it for a while. He loves all the old-skool hip-hop and breakbeat but dubstep is one of his main things now.

I'm a big fan of hip-hop music, that's my main interest, but I loving delving into drum & bass, electro house, breakbeat and anything that gets my fucking groove on, neck-snappin' and spine tinglin'!

Anyway, I'm justing been reading thru a few topics and getting to grips with it all. It's all a bit foriegn to me at the moment but I'll be posting a lot more once I know what's what!

easy! dublin based dnb head (mainly) - dj on an irish language community radio station as well as playing as a resident with the Reach crew (haven't played any dubstep out yet, but i reckon the time will come one day soon enough)

only buying dubstep the last year or so, and being a hell of a lot more selective with it than i normally would (terrified of my record buying addiction escalating to the point where i'm the musical equivalent of a tramp on the floor swigging cooking sherry and meths rather than a sipper of choice wine)

Into the sort of stuff TRG / 2562 / Appleblim / Peverlist / Komonazmuk are doing, as well as most of the Mala etc. related stuff i've come across; also like wining and dining, long walks on the beach at sunset, and the sound of a saxophone

:D
seckle wrote:too many people want the fasttrack into this sound, and choose to create a stir by raping a classic to get their name out; one way gains you respect, the other way makes you look like an opportunist. if you're smart you choose the former, because the latter is a fast rise, and then a quick fall.

Hi everyone,
glad to be finally here.
I was born in Italy but i spent the last 10 yrs of my life in sunny Ireland.
I work in a record store with the largest selection of dubstep in the country.
I dj, produce and do the laundry, a man of my times...
Just put out a new old mix 'DUB vs DUBSTEP' as an offering to the community, hope you'll enjoy it:
