who is the illest dubstep producer?
i know it seems obvious and un-interesting but i rate skream pretty high
plus that is probably the stuff you are lookin for if you don't know anything about dubstep
caspa/rusko, skream, benga, digital mystikz/mala/coki/kode9, distance, vex'd, plastician are all the biggest names as far as i can tell
then if ur after the deeper techno influenced stuff tht's killing it this year you want martyn, TRG, 2562

Martyn is not only one of the best, but he's also one of the best DJ's around... NOT TO BE MISSED.xirrus wrote:Martyn...
Why?...
The stuff he produces is unique and intelligent, just as his personality and what he brings to the table in a set.
Martyn, Benny Ill, OLD Hatcha(sorry, nowadays it's crap)...
lets put it this way... if it was made before 2006, it's good(dubstep in general)... if not, it's subjective, but mostly bad.

As for technical aptitude-----Ital Tek, Pinch and Vex'd yeah. they are the only people i think who keep the basis of what we love about dubstep and keep on pushing it with amazing production and ideas. It's all about musicality!!!armada wrote:as for technical aptitude: gotta be VEx'D (producerS)
(aswell as bass

...................but all three of those deliver on the bass too!

first of in no precise order , gemmy, joker (loving the style there bringing atm, gemmy's is disgusting complete breath of fresh air massively underexposed producer imo, joker's got the melody's that make you wanna screw ya face up and spin round on the spot -- my own trademark skank!)
benga - not much need be said about this man that hasnt been before, plus the ability to turn FM8 loops into bangers shows his production skills truly , go on make ya own benga beats bet they dont sound half as tuff as his!
Skream - consistant releases always bringing new flavours to the scene, you can go anywhere in the world talk about dubstep and chances are if they know what dubstep is they will talk about Skream.
geiom - cop the album see what you think for yaself, the suspense built in hydropine alone is enough to warrant him a place in my list.
Ikonika - definitely feeling every single piece i've heard from her the crazy electro style is so refreshing. remember when i heard Kode 9 drop Please at the End, the looks i was getting from the skank rival any i've had before. if you havent heard afrotp then jus wait!
could name countless others but these are the 1's that get me going
