However if Austria beats Germany, it's gonna go off big time.. we shall see
Im in germany this weekend, and all they talk about on tv is the germany - austria match, and they keep mentioning CORDOBA! one of germanys dramatic losses against the austrians 3-2 if im correct ?
absolutely.. austria beat germany in the world cup 1978.. it's ridiculous really, because austria didn't even qualify for the next round then.. When I hear cordoba it makes me cringe every time.. the sad thing is that it's bascially austria's biggest success and that we beat our big brother

Anyway I hope that from monday on we can refer to Vienna '08, so that we can forget about stupid cordoba..

btw quite delighted that greece was eliminated.. suits them right..

That was the most exciting ten minutes of football I've watched for a long time!

Haha, sick game. I've been supporting Turkey because they've got the only sort of English player in Colin Kazim-Richards. :)

Ah yes the national trauma of germany lol, just like Holland and its 2 traumas, the lost World Cup final in 1974 against Germany, and then again a lost final against Argentina in 1978. What a thriller the Turkey game was!!!! a TV presenter here said that since the Ottoman empire in 16something had tried to conquer the city of Vienna numerous times but always failed, now finally Turkey can "win in Vienna" in these quarter finals lol.. errr i dont know if thats deep :) but its a good story!

Czechs just didnt look as fresh as a couple years ago with nedved baros in top shape etc. I liked their "italian" defense with ujfalusi jankulovic and rosenhal all through this tournament but wow did they fail miserably in those last 10 mins!!!

remember those little car-window flags we had in the uk the other year, and everyone said they were shite and chavvy?

i was in stuttgart on saturday and they were everywhere! millions of the things!

some people had two different countries on - always a german one, but lots of turkish, russian and croatian ones too...

well I wouldn't generally contradict that, but they didn't even qualify so there's no chance of knowing..
