First dubstep track idea

Post by 3stripe » Wed Mar 26, 2008 8:17 am

I'm not gonna post this on the Dubs board cos it isn't finished, but what do you think to http://www.3stripe.net/mp3s/3stripe_mesmerised_test.mp3 in terms of production... first attempt at something dubstep... trying to making something in the minimal/melodic zone....

Will probably add a second bassline next I reckon, one of them wobbly ones...

Its quite hype in my opinion, got a good groove to it. I didn't hear much/any sub, maybe thats something its missing, deffo going in a good direction, I think wobble might kill it but thats cause I am not a big fan of wobble!

good sound to it, but too busy if you ask me. A nice combo of wobble with some non wobble sub might just do the trick but thats as empty of a comment as it gets. ! Keep it up!
How much time have you spent thinking about your signature?

I ave to admit I do like that clip :) Bravo! I aint a producer myself so I can't comment on anythin technical, but maybe some funky hi-hats... and leave wobble out of there! If you want to make it really generic add some wobble lol

Mostly Reason but sometimes a few plugins (eg Korg Legacy Collection and Massive) wired in via Live.

There'll be nae wobble in this. :D Did add a sub-bass though.

Also want to work in some kind of vocal element... here's a couple more clips:

It has a nice sound to it... a little more minimal would be nice in my opinion.

i really like the chord change, think kick drums sounds a lil like a beachball, and can't hear any bass? but good stuff... has lots of movement to it,

nice programming

The artist formerly known as 3stripe here... cheers for the feedback. Yeah there is a fine line between Dr Who and a bit of space-age nonsense...

PS. I changed my alias to Yakushima, I'm gonna keep 3stripe for other stuff.
