Help needed
Hi,
Sorry for asking for help so soon. I pitched a couple of profiles/interviews to a US mag, and it all seemed to be going well. The interviews were due to be with The Bug and 2562. Both artists and labels went out of their way to be helpful and it was all going smoothly.
The magazine, who are going to remain nameless for the time being, sadly changed their minds at the last minute and so neither artist got the coverage (which they richly deserved IMO, as they were so helpful).
This is where I need your help, good people of the forum. I've been out of the UK for two years and so wondered if you could help out by suggesting any new-ish magazines who might be interested in these. It's not for my own benefit - honestly - it's because really, 2562 and the people at Ninja Tune were really good at working all this out and it's a shame to let them down.
I'm not asking for names or contacts or owt - just a couple of titles, as I am a) old and 2) a bit out of touch with the UK press scene at the moment. (US or English titles in other markets are also very welcome)
moderators, please feel free to move or delete this if you think it's off-topic.

I've tried phoning my usual people but these articles are too niche, so I'm looking for a couple of newer music mags. Local ones (Bristol, Manchester etc) might be helpful. Don't really care too much about the $ right now (or more specifically €), cross that bridge when I come to itAshley wrote:How much $ are you expecting for them?
I am not sure if thelondonpaper pay for articles or anything because Chantelle Fiddy usually does it all...
Have you tried phoning anyone up?

Have you tried Plan B mag? They pay next to nothing but they are national, and are interested in all facets of music. I'd guess they've very likely done The Bug, but give em a go. Louis Pattinson is your man there.

Woofah would be good - but we have a 2562 interview and John Eden is tight with Kevin so we'll probably do a big one with him at some stage. I can ask though.
You're right though - these are really helpful artists! Big up for trying to sort them out with coverage, they deserve it.
I'd be tempted to contact The Word. They cover a bit of dubstep and are real music fans, very approachable. Plus of course there's the Wire - it's likely that if they wanted interviews with them they would already have sorted it out, but you never know. Derek's a very nice guy so drop him an email or PM him at Dissensus.
