I'm thinking about making a big sign and putting @ the entrance to the club that says " Illegal Mp3s Not allowed "

just trying to do everything poss. without making into somekind of confrontation.
seems to me like that would start more of a confrontation that just talking to them about it?!

Yeh, i can see your point.

Maybe i'm just trying to get them to figure it out for themselves. Just trying everything poss without actually having to speak to them and spell it out to them in person. Around here we need every working Dj we can get. If there is a way to get these cats to change thier ways w/ out pissing them off, I'm going to try it...

Thats just cold... but those things would seem easy to avoid... cut the internet...
You get these USB dongles now from 3 that allow you to use the net :S

Rip out the walls and replace with lead is what I say!

Seems funny to me too. This is just an attempt to get feedback from all of you that may help shed some light on the problem.

If you get your tunes legit then what i say shouldnt worry you. Cds or a lap top, it doesnt matter to me if you are legit. It matters to me because these Djs are doing the wrong thing, they are letting themselves down and letting down the people in the club.

I do think that its more entertaining to see a Dj flipping vinyl records around than playing with Cds or a lap top. Cds and lap tops are for Kareoke and church dances. In my world, vinyl brings with it the truth.
Cds and laptops are impossible to pin down unless the Dj volunteers transparency and becomes a legitamate leader. Cds and laptops generally bring smoke and mirrors unless (again) you are a legit and transparent artist or Dj with a good reputation. imo

all good, just working it out. thanks for your feedback. :dubstep rave:

this whole issue starts and ends with the promoter of the local night. Format is no longer even worth the debate.

I hope this kind of thread is making all promoters consider that its not about ramming out your night and making a name for your city if choose to ignore the basic issue of respect and courtesy to the labels that create the music.

It's simple. Support nights that support the music. Pass on those that don't.

If the foundation of a local night is shady, then the whole night needs to be put in question. It's not about ice cubes and door tally. It's common courtesy and recognizing that as a promoter, you have a responsibility beyond keeping the beer cold.

Went on Lemon78s youtube profile, hes got a video of the new Sukh Knight - Junglist on there, how the hell he get that tune when its not out yet!!!

If I was at a night and the DJ played one of my tracks I sent around to people who I trusted.. I'd just get up and give him a dirty punch in the face.

I suppose its up to the producers to do something about it, if you get the DJs name, send it on to the producer and let them deal with it, I mean if shits copyrighted and that they can file for a law suit...Although no one wants that but it'll send a warning to other people doing it..Sometimes you gotta take desperate actions to stop something, innit?

agree that it's a shit state of affairs if people are playing illegal mp3's out. it's one thing downloading tunes for personal use but if you're getting paid for playing someone else's tunes when you've got hold of them illegally you're bang out of order

I buy a fucking mountain of music every month....I grab a few bits illegally as do the vast majority of people..a lot of them claim not to download anything illegally but they should all get their computers checked imo...i bet they have sl*k L***w*re, W*f*l*s & Uto***nt

I'm not going to be made to feel guilty given how much i give back to the scene & how much i buy...

i wouldn't even be aware of half the music i listen to had it not been for o**k

the only guarantee that a all vinyl DJ brings is that they are 3 - 8 months behind ;)
