actually yes, i would say the dubstep scene has been much more open than some others. that's not to say there's not random sexism around the internets, but for the most part it's been chill. i think that could be attributed to the fact that there have been women in other genres pushing the boundaries for a few years now. i can honestly say overall the vibe for women is a bit better now than it was 13 years ago when i got into it. but it's still always been better than it was when i was playing in bands. i actually was asked the question once "you play guitar? and you're a girl?" *shakes head*Alan_ wrote:ok. lemme ask this to any of the wimmin who have dj'd multiple genres and have a bit of experience playing out:
