dude is pissed off that other guys in his town are getting bookings even though they play stuff that's stolen. he wants to know what he can do about that.
play stuff he ASSUMES is stolen.
i rename every single file that comes into my possession. and change the id3's all to fit into my system of organizing. if i was to download a illegal 320, it would look & sound exactly the same as if i bought it from digital-tunes.
should i worry about being called a theif when i rock my DMZ's that arent on Bleep with my serato? do i gotta bring the records to prove i ripped them myself?
how does some next man know who im tight with and who serves me tunes? MAYBE that dub is legit....
and maybe i been rockin it on dub since before it came out on vinyl...
imho, this thread is 100% on topic. the HACK dj is the one who doesnt understand the tools and how things work. encouraging people to scoff at a DJ on serato is just as ridiculous as pirates who dont pay for anything..
one time i was sitting at a undisclosed venue drinking with a undisclosed famous D&B DJ, discussing the merits of serato, cause it was early in the serato stages and the DJ playin was on it... DJ dropped a tune and both me and undisclosed famous dude were like ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh naughty naughty, that shit isnt out yet, no WAY he got that legit. so i went home that night and found the tune had gone up for sale on D&B Arena the day before. i felt stupid. its the ass part of assume.
please read the original post again, and his subsequent replies. at no point was there any proof the djs were playin illegal stuff, the djs werent even dubstep djs, and dude didnt even talk to them about his concerns, OR the promoter, he simply came on here bitchin about serato.

Well I take a portion of it back. Its not like these promoters are doing it because they love dubstep..especially the nights that pop up out of nowhere and die after 1 or 2 events.
more asssssume. is it because they have a low post count that they dont 'love' dubstep? lolz.
lets the fruits do the talking... meaning, if a DJ sounds like SHIT cause they are playing 128kbps myspace rips, let them sound like shit, ask them whats up with that after they set, and see if the promoter is on the level... anywhere worth playing, that shit isnt gonna fly..
just cause somebody is on serato doesnt mean anything in and of itself.
