Its all about individual tastes and styles.

I reckon Cookie has some bad boy tunes up his sleves, just like Caspa/Rusko there styles make the club's wyle out and progression is the only way forward i expect from him.

As for peeps saying he has too much mid-range, theres nothing wrong with that many drum n bass tunes are based on the mid rather than the sub.

Cookie just like they say opions are like arseholes everyones got one!

that's an awful argument tbh. because drum and bass does it is must be good?
have you seen what happened to that genre? (in a large part because of mid-range i might add, although obviously not solely)

well exactly. make what you enjoy at the end of the day. just don't expect everyone to like it, although the newer fans seem to lap this stuff up

I've been mixing for 12 years (all styles) and just listened to Breathe and Cookies beats. Nice work lads - the more the merrier.

The sign a scene is dying is when there's no space for new producers, when was the last time you heard of a new artist? Last year it was somebody new every week, but now it's slowing up.

Let the new blood through - that's what this scene is about right?

What a load of horse shit. Have a look at the new releases coming out there are loads of new producers putting stuff out.

No one is saying that they don't want new producers.

Well done for mixing for 12 years - that was a vital piece of information

tl;dr all of it BUT

the bits I did read:

The tunes are not my favourite style guys but I can appreciate how they would go off in a club. To be honest I dont think your tunes are any more crazy than say, My Pet Monster by Caspa, and I think the production quality is good.

It annoys me a bit when people are just rude about tunes. If you dont like them then say so, but theres no need to be personally offensive. Bear in mind that someone has spent a lot of time and effort making ANY tunes and put a lot of love into them. To outright cuss them is just harsh.

On the other hand I don't think cookiemonsta particularly helped himself calling everyone a tnuc and not even doing it in proper English. THIS IS NOT A TEXT MESSAGE. And even if it was, you can afford the extra 12p that it would cost to type proper sentences... No one is going to take you or your production seriously, and you may well have damaged any chance you had of getting signed - no label owner is going to sign up "that twat from dubstepforum".

EDIT: and its a bit odd that its the same guys hating in this thread who are claiming that dubstep is just dubstep and that there should be no subgenres...

why do you say that? just because someone doesn't like a dubstep tune doesn't mean they want it to become a sub-genre now does it?
