i joined a while ago but don't think i posted in here...

i live in north London (N16), wouldn't call myself a dj really but i played out for the first time at the weekend. felt good playing to people the majority of who hadn't heard much dubstep before but were all skanking out and asking me about tunes afterwards.

i'm also a jaded d&b head who's pretty much lost interest in that scene now.

right now, imo Anti Social are the best thing in dubstep.

Whats good everyone? I am from North Carolina in the states. Been djing for a about 18 months. First got into grime then heard benga's essential mix and it was a rap! I must have spent the past hour on youtube watching different snippets of dubstep docs.

hello there. I'm a musician from austin, tx. I play drums in a few bands here, and also dj breakcore, dubstep and jungle. I produce electronic muzak as well as more traditional guitar/bass/drums/keys fare. my electronic producer alias is powerhammer.

newbie from UK here, very recently got into Dubstep over the past couple of weeks with a fluke random album purchase, looking into getting some compilations over the coming weeks!.

although heavily addicted to electronic music in general really. ;)

new convert looking for some insight

Post by ursditsky » Thu Jul 03, 2008 11:37 pm

i'm brian. i'm basically here to find dubstep with a heavy ragga influence, but still dark and grimy. i like a lot of what skream has done, some of the dub he uses reminds me of lee perry. much of the "dubstep" i've heard is too busy/glitched/techy for me. i like that organic moody knock you on your ass DUBstep. any recommendations?

Just thought I'd drop in and say hello and introduce myself.

I'm mainly here for the production thread, but I've been meaning to have a bash at djing for a while, so I may give that a whirl at some point.

Love xx
