im sure everyone appreciates wot your doing. big up yourself.

all jokes aside it is reasonable to be worried. a mate of mine last year got caught with a bit of weed and was looking at a prison stretch. luckily the british embassy got him back home though. not to say that that will happen every time as i'm not sure if that would be possible if harder drugs were involvedCorpsey wrote:Apparently this year some guy got pinched with pills on him and was put in a cell with murderers, rapists etc. They stripped off and were about to gang bang him but he started crying and was sick in the corner so they let him out.
Pure forum fact there.
I remember when Ghostface got loads of girls dancing on stage with him in Nottingham once. I could see by that twinkle in his eye that a lot of them would be buried in Sherwood Forest that night.
the guy that narrowly escaped a bumming got arrested at the same time as my mate & was in the same prison. apparently when the festival is on it's a standard night in the cells + 300 quid fine, no matter what you've got - people with 1 spliff were getting the same as 20 pills. outside of festival time though, it's at least a year in clink.badger wrote:all jokes aside it is reasonable to be worried. a mate of mine last year got caught with a bit of weed and was looking at a prison stretch. luckily the british embassy got him back home though. not to say that that will happen every time as i'm not sure if that would be possible if harder drugs were involvedCorpsey wrote:Apparently this year some guy got pinched with pills on him and was put in a cell with murderers, rapists etc. They stripped off and were about to gang bang him but he started crying and was sick in the corner so they let him out.

saying that the coppers were all pretty safe still.
and yeah, the girls on stage was jokes. Stamina trying to usher them off near the end, Skream grabs the mic "NO! stay where you are!"

& the tunes were far from 'commercial' - i heard Breakage, 2562, Pinch's rmx of V (?), and only 1 Rusko tune in the whole 2 hours

personally that was my favourite 2hours of exit08, was great to see dubstep being played on such a big scale to a crowd that were absolutely loving it. i stood on the barrier at the front about 10mins in to look behind, half expecting a smallish crowd but the size was immense.
good tunes, good lighting, amazing atmosphere, lots of banter + even the girls on stage helped make this a really memorable set. i'd not heard stamina mc to dubstep before and was a bit sceptical, but actually really enjoyed it. shame dyna didnt join in the fun when he showed his face halfway thru+the arseholes wouldnt turn the sound up!
ignore the criticism, it was a class set. looked like you were enjoying the southern comfort or whatever u were drinking, met you round the back afterwards+u seemed fucked -> well done for keeping it together on stage (lol except maybe wen grabbing the mic...)! enjoy the fame, you boys both deserve it.
other highlights were double b on happynovisad (gutted when i left dillinja to find her converse set was just dnb), and the lass doing a jungle set on the campsite's beach stage on the last evening (big up the hulahoop girls and the borat lookalike throwing some crazy moves!) anyone know that dj's name??
cheers,
martin
ps pissed myself when i saw u driving out of the site with 'skream and benga' scarawled across the audi in mud, both leaning out of one window+getting a bit rowdy! good times!

EXIT has that policy to lower down music at main stage after 2. The same thing hapenned to Benga & Skream. There was no enough bass by my opinion. I'm a bit disappointed...
Anyway, it will be easier for us who try to promote dubstep in Serbia after this EXIT, that's for sure!
Big respect from Serbian crew! See you next year at Novi Sad!

i completely understand what the originator meant with his message.
But i actually think playing on the main-stage was the mistake - sound-wise. the bass just got lost: went completely fucking awol.
i dunno if many people got a chance to venture through the tunnel to the
Happy - Novi - Sad
[ahh, look at tht Novi see-saw] arena, but the sound there was nutty. It had a wall running down the left side, which carried the bass right through the back - seriously u com in the back of the arena and your ribs just start hoppin around instant - using your chest like a playground
Now, i'm all up for sonic-boomin dubstep to as many people as possible, but you gotta wonder if its at the cost of losing some of the fundamentals that brought it into the wider world in the first place.??
also, having the set while the sun was coming up...nahhh; seeing the horrific faces of the people dancin around me far outweighed the novlty of skankin in the sun + dark dub works better
saying that, it was still the best 2 hours of the whole 4 days
that gurnin talk brings me onto my next point - this is from their national newspaper BLIC:
Arrests over drug possession
On the third day of the festival the police arrested 41 people (30 of them foreign nationals) over drug possession. The police confiscated 2.18 grams of heroin, 81.15 grams of marijuana, 93 ecstasy tablets, two LSD cards, 21.14 grams of amphetamine and 22 pieces of various other tablets.
surely that was just for one day??

Music for the Jilted Generation (which, like myself, is now the greying generation)

TOO YOUNG FOR BINGO , NEVER TO OLD TO DISCO

I really enjoyed the set, it was the first time i had actually gone out of my way to see any dubstep live and it was definitely worth it.. as for the danncing girls, i dread to think what I would have looked like up there, so good on them for really going for it!
as for the drugs situation at Exit, we had shit pills but good acid, think thats just more their scene... the trick is to make friends with a few serbian brehs, we did well cos we were camped next to some guys who were friends with the security, so they kept em off our backs! but yeah you do have to be careful, especially with weed just cos its more obvious.
oh and Happy NoviSad YES YES YES
