Its a decent list - British Sea Power, Shadow Puppets, Neon Neon and Elbow are all on my ipod and get regular play.

I'd still rate Untrue above any of them mind.

i think he is well in of a chance to win, the quality of the ablum is very definitive and the highly experimental sound is sumin that brings its own unique appeal...

that said, he seemed to get a sort of marmite reaction wen it came out.

i havent herd much of any of the other nominees, maybe the odd track here n there but i dont think there would be any great loss if burial won it. he is well deserving of it tbh.

the bookies think so anyways.

Fucks sake im well pissed off, a year ago, a month or two before Untrue came out i thought i should really just stick a tenner on it getting at least nominated, but possibly for the win. Now the odds are 7/2!

anyway im not too bothered about the whole affair but it would be wicked for him im sure, 30,000 grand first prize as well last time i checked, so he may get a sick years wages out of it too!

although it's great he gets a nomination it really is a Radiohead thing for me. Especially when all else pales in comparison to the two nominations. But apart from the sales tactics, Radiohead did produce a beautiful album with a twist and a p-r-op-e-r electronic music connection to it. You guys seen "Scotch Mist" video of their live performance from their studio last NYE? shit man, this shit is way beyond all our perceptions about urban, dub, bass, quality beats, etc. it's a proper LP.

but yes thumbs up to Burial for making an LP that is simply on EVERYBODY's radar this last year>>>

Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?

I have it on good authority that Adele was only nominated for her Rusko remix.

Good for him. "Untrue" is at least as good as those other nominees.

The mercury music prize has been the kiss of death for more than one musical career. And anyway, why go to the trouble of creating and maintaing a secret alterego if you were going to reveal it at the mercury music awards of all places?
I have the upmost respect for burial and his music, but I dont think he'll win. It would be jokes if either burial or radiohead won because neither would turn up to collect the prize. Mega browniepoints to anyone who gets up an claims it if burial wins it
Don't talk to me about soundsystems, I've been to Leeds...

If Burial wins and lets face it he aint gona turn up... hehehe

There should be a big pose from dubstepforum go down to the awards and go on stage then perade it round London (only if it's raining) in the dark, all with radio's picking up pirate signals badly, with hoodies on.

Who's in?

Hope he wins... freakin' work of art.

If not, Radiohead, not doubt Thom will do something weird and pronounce Burial should have won anyway.

Heard this on the radio earlier...wasn't expecting something as good as this to be nominated!

Would be jokes if he won :)
