Soundforge / wavehammer artifacts

Post by nex » Mon Jul 28, 2008 9:34 am

I'm trying to maximize a wav exported from Reason using Soundforge, but can't seem to do it without littering it with blips and high pitched beeps. Even with only the tiniest change, theyre added everywhere. It's nowhere near 0db and it's only using 1% of my CPU so I'm pretty clueless. halp?

By maximizing you mean normalizing right? Are you using a demo version of soundforge? The extra plug-ins like Noise Reduction that come with the software (but aren't free on the trial version) will create beeps every 5 seconds when you render the audio. Just their little way of showing you whats capable with certain extra tools while not giving you the full package.

I've "got" the full version of Soundforge but you're right those blips are because wave hammer is in demo mode... I guess it's an extra plug in you've got to pay separately for?
