That's in my pile of books that I picked up at the book store the other week, I thought if the Daily Telegraph thinks it's a load of shite then I might enjoy it.BETAMAXNOMATES wrote: Now I've just started a book called 'Black Mass' by John Gray which is about how notions of utopia and 'progress' are actually detrimental to mankind. One of the quotes on the back described it as a 'load of bollocks' which was what sold it to me!
finished Deadeye Dick. was good all the way through.
now i'm getting back into Haunted.

for some reason, I've had a really *reeaaaalllly* rough time getting into House of Leaves but I've heard it was really worth the effort. Sorry I didn't scan the previous entries so I don't know if its been reviewed or not but...if anyone's read it, is it worth it? I try...I really do.....but for some reason, every time I get to around page 70 or so, I completely lose interest. But I've heard it was brilliant...and I'm lookin for something to do this weekend. Is it worth the trek? Thanks!

Yes, in my opinion. I agree it's not exactly the easiest but I reckon your perseverance will be rewarded (it usually is with books)bellybelle wrote:for some reason, I've had a really *reeaaaalllly* rough time getting into House of Leaves but I've heard it was really worth the effort.
