I seems as if clam is going out looking for a conflict.

Who really cares if the mods are not doing their job 100% fairly? They're humans at the end of the day, and would feel tight brassing-off their mates than next man.

More to the point- who gives a shit if some topics are moved or in the wrong place? This is a forum to talk about dubstep, sex, beer, draw and politics.

This is not the People's Republic of Dubstep, this is a forum that somebody has put in time and funds and thank fuck they've done it.

It looks like you're just looking for strife that doesn't exist clam, and that you're begging for a position of power.

I think Clam should NOT be a mod, I think the power will go to her head, I think she'd get a little too trigger-happy and I think she'll brass even more people off.

I would, if i was victim to some blatant double standardisations.

Then you PM the mod concerned and have a quick word in their ear.

in my personal opinion, the biggest problem with dubstep right now is the egos that are getting out of control

its everybody too

the producers, the djs, the promoters, the writers, etc (NOBODY SPECIFIC)

i felt a personal ego swell gettin out of hand for a while but i recognized it and try to keep perspective. seeing how full of themselves other people get is a healthy reminder to stay humble.

i encourage everybody who has been around a while to take some time for self reflection. you're not as earth-movingly important as you think you are.

anyway the scene is probably too big and varied now to even be considered one scene.
puttin up walls doesn't stop anybody who doesn't wanna be stopped so its just going to divide and fragment further as things progress and people who feel they are important try to steer the ship as a whole.
perhaps its best that the scene divide up so that there's no way individuals can even try to steer the ship as a whole. perhaps some kurt vonnegut wisdom applies to music scenes as well as political rule:
"All nations larger than Denmark are crocks of doodoo."

i realize i'm being a little obtuse but i think my point is gettin across

just somethin thats been on my mind lately not necessarily directly related to recent events

i said it before and it was deleted so i'll say it again

depends on the mod you speak to. some have an axe to grind and will repeatedly insult and dismiss you from their high throne of authority. others are cool as fuck and will try to help how they can.
the mods are individual people and not some massless entity that moderates from the center of the ultraworld

This forum is not the property of the dubstep community, if indeed such a thing exists, but rather is owned and operated by a private individual with the help of mods. The owner (and, by extention, the mods, who act as his proxy) created the rules and is not only able but perfectly entitled to enfore them at will, selectively if he so desires. The is no rule of law here so you have no call to complain.
Yea... sure you can go and break it down technically... Ivan owns this forum.

I don't think he'd be such a prick to say "this is my forum and I don't care what anyone thinks" because he'd be in an empty forum.

This forum didn't get as big as it did because that hasn't been his mentality. It shouldn't start to be that way now. Back in the day, it was very tightly run. Now it's not. It can be fixed.

END.
back in the day, it was 2 000 ppl.
now its 20 000 registered users!

im sure all moderators want to be fair!
but they have life as well.
please understand.

what makes you think i'm talking about dubstep forum and not dubstep

it may also be my limited north american perspective. things are different on this side of the pond i'm sure

appreciate the insulting dismissal though

chamclowder wrote:Again... when they could have been Moderating, they were busy PMing me. I don't frankly care what the excuses are for not doing it. It's in the wrong place, it should be moved. And technically, this very thread is in the wrong place.
everything needs to be done in moderation, especially moderation.

if everything was just locked/deleted/harsh with strict application of the rules (no exceptions), everyone would be all OMG THE MODS ARE SHIT THIS PLACE IS NO FUN I'M STARTING DUBSTEPONACID.COM.

(none of this is saying anything about the forsaken thread. shrug.)
